This was such a great video! This really gave me an idea of how to organize the map and how to construct a key! I love how your maps came together as well and you are really great at explaining everything! Plus, it was fun to just watch you roll them and see what you got! That seems like it would be a fun world to explore!

Amazing help! I got my maps created using your method and they came out great, thank you. BTW I opted to make anything with 2 or more lakes into swamp lands, anything with 4 or more plains became deserts. Really came out nice!

I use a rampart for the city and capitol like you do in this video, but to distinguish between the two I write the letter "C" in the city that is the capitol and leave the cities blank.

I've tried a couple of times. I tend to get clusters of water dice or town dice almost on top of each other. I haven't really been able to get it just right just yet

Hey there! Came across your video when researching ways to randomly come up with a world to flesh out, and I had a few questions, if you don't mind? First, how did you go about determining how many of each die size to use? Next, how do you feel about moving, switching, or tweaking the map to fit an idea you had for a story or game? Then, ideally, what size paper and dice pool would you use? Lastly, have you since used this map for a game or book or story? If so, I'd love to hear about it!

Is there a way i could do this with coins? I have no dice but a jar full of coins
@NolaFayeDodd

Hmmm Haven't really thought of this before. I'll assume you're using American currency, otherwise you'll have to use whatever coins you have. You could do this as a baseline but here's a quick chart you could try out: All empty space on the map are plains Penny: Forests Nickel: Lake Dime: Mountain Quarter Tails: Special Location Quarter Heads: Town 50 Cent/Gold Dollar: Capital Unique Coin Heads: Great Good Unique Coin Tails: Great Evil Let me know if this works cuz I made this in 2 minutes XD Enjoy

@@NolaFayeDodd it actually works pretty well. I had hundreds of pennies in that jar so i drew some symbols on them so they can represent something other than heads or tails. I came up with a large Panama shaped land with a large island to the east and a much smaller island above it.

i wish there was an exact amount of dice to use instead of "a bag full of dice." how many d20? d12? etc? i tend to buy dice in sets so i have a uniform amount of dice in my bag and my bag holds 1000 dice so if there was a specific number i could pull of each dice and put that in a another bag this would be amazing. Right now I'm sitting here pausing and trying to decipher between dice and how many of each there are

In the video I mention that my dice bag holds around 30-40 dice, so hopefully that helps!
