How do you guys know how much dice should be rolled? Any time I’ve tried it feels like I roll too many dice or not enough

honestly, i just wing it lol. I have a bin of dice and rolled all the relevant ones with each stage. Im sorry i dont have a more precise answer for you

i will say, for a map that big, i was just rolling a smaller amount of dice, and then rolling another batch where i felt things were missing or wanted there to me more. Moving onto the next stage when im happy with how populated with items the current stage is. (stages being Shape->Vegetation->Water Features->Civilization)
