Please don't take this the wrong way. I am not a troll and I am not being facetious in any way. I just have to say you are absolutely adorable. I love your ingenuity and you are extremely talented. So thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and creativity. Watching your creations come to life is amazing and the way you explain things, it's like you are telling a beautiful story. And lastly, you have such a peaceful soothing voice. Have a glorious day.

Me seeing the thumbnail and title: oh ho! I shall me learning about a new little guy! Me seeing the scale drawing: My old friend moving red dot!?!?!? Some other things I really loved about this: - seeing a shorter video for you ( it felt like you were just popping in to say hello) -the lack of explanation about why you wanted to do this. You just did it - your nails looked so spooky and shaped All in all Vincent your have done it again

"My old friend moving red dot" is such a good description! It was nice to edit something short after such a long shirt video. I can't remember what exactly made me decide to make the first mite, but I think it might just have been that I'd made a caterpillar and remembered I had the velvet, and it seemed like an easy bug to do.

my grandmother loved bugs, and she had a whole shelf of cool statues and carvings people gave her. i haven't thought about ornamental non-lepidopteran bugs much since she died. this is a delightful project and you've reminded me how fun they are. maybe i will make some cool bugs.
@vincentbriggs1780
@vincentbriggs1780 Ай бұрын
That sounds like a lovely shelf. Yes, butterflies are nice but there are so many other kinds of bugs! And a lot more mammals, birds, reptiles, etc. than the ones used in the vast majority of decoration. Looking at most mushroom art you'd think red amanitas were the only colourful fungus in the world, but there are so many others! It's really weird that so much nature inspired art is just the same few subjects over and over. Countless things with elephants on them but none with saiga antelopes. Tons of dragonfly decorations but no leaf hoppers or tortoise beetles :(

These are so cute! I'm already thinking of making one as decor for my bearded dragon. She likes to bask outside and I always inspect her and brush off any wayward mites so she doesn't get an infection. I think a plush version would be adorable and ironic. For fabric marking, I highly recommend Frixion erasable markers. They disappear with minimal heating. Some colors do stain so I recommend a swatch test first, but I find them a lot easier to use than other fabric marking techniques I've tried. Also loving the nail polish.

I find that frixion pens drag a bit... Although it's just occurred to me that perhaps there's a version that isn't a ballpoint 😅
@oliverrose7796
@oliverrose7796 Ай бұрын
@@helenm1085 Yes! They have a lot of ballpoint varieties, which I love for my note-taking and planning just in general, but they also have markers and highlighters. There are broad and fine tip markers - the fine tip marker is 0.7mm and I find works great for me for most patterning. I use the different colors to mark fold/seam/cut lines also. Obviously will not work on dark fabric, so I use this cheapo white pen I picked up at Joanns which works ok. :)

I don't know if there's a wet pen that's as water soluble as crayola markers, but that could also work? accept that it's going to bleed and then wash it out

@helenm1085 28 күн бұрын
@@oliverrose7796 clearly that's a way better option than a ballpoint! I really just assumed that everyone who recommended them was talking about the ballpoint version cause that's the only one I'd seen.

For turing narrow things inside-out I like the method when you sew in the piece of string on one end and then pull on it. It is hard to explain. But you can find this method searching for "spaghetti straps". I might sew one mite like this for my nephew, he would love that. On a second thought... I might actually do it for myself as pincushion ;)

I hope they are as charmed as I am with your antics and gentle nonsense. I'm not sure if you mentioned it before, but what is your sewing machine?
