Your videos are excellent. I am not sure why they are not more popular. Still, 33K is great! I have seen people running successfully off of that number and it is something to be proud of. I hope you keep creating and teaching! 🙂

PLEASE EXPLAIN THE PROCESS YOU USE LIKE - IDEA DEVELOPMENT - RESEARCH - SHARE - SUPPORT - INFLUENCE - MEDIA - SELL - DISTRIBUTE ESTABLISHING THE FLOW?

Ah you mean my KZbin production cycle. You've got the steps right: Idea > Research > Write/Mind map > Plan > Film > Edit > Publish > Feedback (Comments + analytics). What is it are you trying to accomplish? I might make another video if I can help :)

Hey Sheng, thanks for the video. Have you thought about making a video about your in depth process to make videos ? (ouhhh meta!) Your mind map approach is so unique, it would be fascinating to see how you proceed from ideation to outlining to shooting, etc... Cheers :)
@ShengHuang2 жыл бұрын
That's a great idea Egon! My usual process is as follows: 1) Life experience & conversations (these days often with the Mind Map Nation community!), 2) Capture in Mind Map, 3) Write about it in my newsletter - like this one www.mindmapnation.com/articles/living-1000-years, 4) Eventually make a video of it once I've stress tested new frameworks and techniques. This usually involves some more refinement before I hit the camera. So in many ways MMN and my newsletter proceeds my videos by a few weeks to even months. That's why I have those channels to share more real time learnings :)

@@ShengHuang That's interesting, so writing always comes first. I also find intersting that your process is built around this idea of "living and experimenting" before teaching and creating. I mean it's common sense when you think about it. So many times I feel pushed to share a though that I just read before I even had the chance to reflect on it or test it in my own life. I still wonder and how you manage to be so prolific and consistent while taking your time to live, test and chew in your own life on what you then teach. I am sure that a lot of content creators would benefit from your take on the subject. Thanks for your answer !

@@EgonLiberge trust me it is an ongoing challenge my friend. I hate to be the reactive type as I champion the slower, more complex type of thought. Yet social media i.e. the algorithms force us to consistently crank out "content" week after week, like machines to feed its viewers. Doing it that way will indeed our content a product to be mass consumed rather than art that is intentionally made for self expression or to help others. The world doesn't need more content, it needs curation and wisdom. That said, fortunately my brain has a hard time shutting up and I'm constantly coming up with new frameworks and theories from my observations (see the Marcus Aurelius quote at the end of that article I shared), so I'm also not short of ideas, but rather short of time to craft them into something that's 1) shareable and 2) up to my standards. To free up my time for actual creation, I'm finally hiring an assistant to take care of some of the logistical steps of publishing!

Hi Sheng, thanks very much for your inspiring videos. One question about the mind mapping process. I've discovered the potential of mind maps earlier this year, and I've integrated the process in my work as well as in other activities (like becoming a better climber or planning a motorcycle trip through Europe). I've tried drawing them by hand on paper, but I'm not very good at that. I also tried the mind mapping software VYM (View Your Mind) which works great on my Linux workstation. But I'm curious about the mind mapping software you are using in the video. As far as I understand, it's a tablet with a stylus. I'd be very curious to try this out by myself. Can you tell me more about your setup? Thanks & cheers from the sunny South of France & keep up the good work!
@ShengHuang3 жыл бұрын
I'm glad you're mapping out your dreams! That trip sounds amazing :D Yes I'm using Notability on the iPad Pro 2018 w/ an Apple Pen v2. I did a review of the setup here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/omqzoqKol55qebM. My roommate uses the same app with his 4 year old iPad w/ the Pen v1 and it works just fine too.

Hi Mahraoui, I really appreciate your time and question. This is actually the last "episode" in a 5 part series on transforming our aspirations into action (ironically this is the first step!). I did a write up here to tie everything together: silverandsteel.notion.site/The-Goals-Funnel-System-56791906f8f145a1af516baa55825266. I'll probably also make a video of this whole process in the future!

What is the best way, handwritten or computer-generated? I usually run out of room on my handwritten ones..

Very useful high quality content. Have you thought of creating a proper structured course on this? Or workshop sessions? Or perhaps looking into different scenarios and other examples and tailoring for a specific audience. Depends on your goals I guess. I think businesses for example would be interested in this kind of education for their employees
@ShengHuang3 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the great suggestions! So far, I've made a variety of mind mapping tutorials on KZbin for both personal and professional use cases. Yes I've definitely considered making a course and the first step of that is making the field guide on my new website silverandsteel.org. I've also gotten workshop inquiries so those are probably on the horizon too.
