I always enjoy watching your videos, but I particularly like it when you show projects that don't require spending a fortune on materials. I saw Roy Underhill make one of these a couple of years ago using just hand tools, but I think your combination of hand tools and power tools looks better. One of these would make a great cookbook/tablet holder for the kitchen. You provided us with a nice table saw trivet plan (two of them are still in daily use in my kitchen). I'm trying to think of a way to combine them.

Glad to hear that you enjoy the program Jim. I do my best to provide a show that is useful and enjoyable to all and to hear comments like yours, makes it all worth while. Thank you for tuning in and for taking the time to leave such a positive comment. I appreciate your support. For the record, Roy Underhill is the one who first inspired me years ago to want to try this project. So I guess we both take our inspiration from somewhere.

What a great project. The accuracy needed, or should I say confidence needed is at this time beyond me but I do need to have a go when I get my new band saw as I wouldn't trust my present one to be good enough to do this. I have to admit I am nieve about some of the measuring tools and wondered if you have a list of tools you use and where they are available. As with most things we are behind on things here in the UK unless it is my ineptitude to find them. Please don't feel you have to do a list if you don't already have one. Many thank's for your usual informative videos. It does make those of us who are not as skilled feel a little more capable. Cheers Keeny

Whoops, Kenny ignore my comment on a list of tools. I have just been to your Facebook page and found the tool I was interested in. INCRA PRECISION T-RULES. Sorry to bother you !!
@acutabove_woodworkings5 жыл бұрын
@@barrynorman3906 Never a bother. I'm more than happy to help out. That is the whole reason I do this show in the first place. Thanks for tuning in.
@acutabove_woodworkings5 жыл бұрын
Well, let me start off by saying thank you for the kind words on the show. I totally disagree that this is beyond you and until you give it a go, you will never know for sure. Using the bandsaw to split the two sides apart doesn't have to be done on the bandsaw and using a handsaw is also acceptable. Don't count yourself short Barry. I am sure that this is something that you can do and I urge you to give it a try. If there are any other tools that you need to know about or you ever have any other questions about the show or a project, please don't hesitate to ask and I would be more than happy to help out in any way I can. I was just going to type out a list of the tools used in this show but if you got your information on the INCRA T-rule, then I guess I wont have to. Thank you for tuning in to the program.

I love that project. Has been on my todolist for ages. Now that i finally have a decent bandsaw, its about time... I guess its roubeau season, James Wright did one just recently with handtools.
@acutabove_woodworkings5 жыл бұрын
Glad that you enjoyed the project Willem. I don't know who James Wright is but I'm sure he did a great job on it. This show was filmed back in November of 2018 so it's been a while since I filmed it but I always find it funny when different people decide to do the same project at the same time. I've been thinking about doing a certain project for months now and when one of my magazine subscriptions came in on Friday, there was the project that I was thinking about right in the magazine. LOL. Either way, I guess it's time you get the tools sharpened up and get to work on your own. Good luck and if you have any questions, please don't hesitate. Thanks for tuning in to the show.

Thanks so much for this Kenny! I made one with hand tools...but the next one I want to use a bandsaw and my jet table saw...can you tell me what bandsaw and fence do you use? And what table saw sled/miter do you use on your table saw please? Again thanks so much! Cheers, Mark
@acutabove_woodworkings2 жыл бұрын
I got your message on the channel's Facebook page Mark but I will copy and paste my answer here in case others are interested in knowing this information. The bandsaw is a Rikon 10-326 bandsaw. The fence on the bandsaw is the stock fence that comes with the Rikon 10-326. The mitre fence that I use on my table saw is an INCRA 3000 SE mitre fence. I hope this helps Mark. Thanks for tuning in to the show.

Ken, simply cool. I have seen those made before but the way you did it in such a way that it made sense. Nice project. I sure liked how you explained it as well as showing the process. Does the resaw blade on your bandsaw do a good enough job to where there isn’t a lot of sanding to do? It looked pretty smooth. What brand of blade is it? If you said I must have missed it.
@acutabove_woodworkings5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the kind words on the show and the project Paul. It's very much appreciated. Although there isn't a blade out there that will leave no marks, this bandsaw blade left very little sanding to do. I've always been pleased with this blade from the beginning. I believe it's a PS Wood Timberwolf at 3 tpi and 5/8" blade width. Perfect for this project. Thanks for tuning in this week sir. I appreciate your support.

Why does the fan in the background on your right (our left) keeps disappearing and reappearing from show to show I have been wondering for months now and it has come to a point where I just have to know
@acutabove_woodworkings5 жыл бұрын
I have two fans in that area Allan. There is a white one that I use from time to time to circulate the air and then there is the black one that is sitting on my wood burning stove. It's one of those ones that heats up from the stove and then starts to turn to circulate the heat from the stove pipe. When I don't have to circulate the air (when the temperature is perfect in there) then the white one gets removed and when the wood stove isn't in use for the heat, the fan gets removed and put away for the season. It's just one of those things that make you wonder. LOL. This show was actually shot at the end of November so it was a little chilly in the shop that day. Needed the wood stove. Thanks for tuning in to the program and for taking the time to ask a question. I appreciate it.

good job ... well done.... what is the meaning of this word kenny ??? ROUBO what is roubo ??? ı didnt find it at the dictionary...
@acutabove_woodworkings5 жыл бұрын
You wont find the word Roubo in a dictionary because it isn't a word, it's a name. Roubo, or Andre Jacob Roubo was a woodworker and carpenter in the 1700's who penned a couple of woodworking books showcasing projects and techniques. This particular project is one of his more famous and popular ones and although (I think) he didn't create it, due to the fact that he published it in his works, he has been credited with its design. He was a pretty interesting and talented man. I hope this answers your question and points you in the right direction for more information on him if you are interested. Thanks for tuning in to the show and for taking the time to post your question. It's appreciated.
