For the backing, wouldn't it be neater if the backing was also folded in on the edges instead of cutting it flush to the shape of the rug? I would love to see you try if that would work better. Especially for commercial ones. Also, can a rubber backing work for the rug to be anti-slip?
@FlavorWorld4 жыл бұрын
yeah for sure!!! That'd help keep it from fraying and just keep a cleaner look in general. However, with organic/curvy shapes like this, that seemed super difficult to fold it all over LOL so i took the easy route... I could give it a try sometime to experiment though! I rubber addition to a fabric backing would probably work best!!! using a non-slip pad or something

Hi!!! usually one of these things is what is going wrong: 1. you aren't pressing firmly enough with the gun against the fabric (you don't need to press SUPER hard just can't be too light with it) 2. make sure you’ve got the gun at a 90-degree angle with the fabric and that you always point it in the direction it's traveling 3. your yarn maybe isn't feeding properly (reduce the friction of it!) 4. your fabric might not be stretched tight enough Hope this helps : )

Do you buy your burlap by the yard? What are the measurements and where do you get it? Thanks
@FlavorWorld4 жыл бұрын
yeah! i get 47 inch wide burlap by the yard from Jo-Ann fabrics. I feel like most fabric stores would have burlap

I got mine from a seller on Etsy who sadly is no longer available. I recommend searching for them on the internet!! Ive never seen them sold in stores. I paid $275 for mine, and I have an AK-1 Cut Pile gun. Thanks for the questions :-)

When you use two strands of yarn do you mean you have two separate spools of yarn that you fed through the gun?
@FlavorWorld4 жыл бұрын
Yeah!!! I always buy two of the same color for this reason

@@FlavorWorld ok got it! Thank you very much! I’ve been doing some research because I want to start making my own rugs and your videos have been very helpful but I was always confused on just that one part. So thank you very much for the clarification!

your videos are my favorite to watch. i have learned more from you in such a short amount of time it’s insane. i do have one question tho i’ve tried using burlap but it always seems to rip. do you have any tips for that?? i would appreciate it
@FlavorWorld4 жыл бұрын
WOW yes!!! Im so hyped to inspire and educate you it fr means so much. Burlap definitely rips a little easier than monks cloth, BUT, it shouldn't be too big of an issue. I usually dont get any holes when using it. If its ripping for you, that often means that yours not pushing hard enough into the burlap with your gun. If you're not kinda firm with it, then the needle will push itself off of the fabric (not through) and then snip the fabric too. give that a try. if it doesnt fix it, DM me and we can figure it out!!!
