Great shop with all the tools. Love it!! I just started out 2 months ago. I started with the belts and then moved up to making Body Purses for my granddaughters. My wife, both my sons and my 3 grandsons received my custom belts with my designs on them.

Great tutorial..8:45 any reason why you did not skive the short section that wraps around the buckle? Most belts have that short piece thinner so it doesn't protrude out when in a pants.. keep up the awesome work!

To help with the buckle end you can skive it down to help it fold. If you buy belt blanks from Tandy they come that way

Well this was certainly very helpful, thank you for making this video. I'm currently making Armor for Live Action Role Play instead of belts but thanks to you I now know how belts are made. Now to work out how to translate the process of making a belt into the straps for securing the armor I'm making in place without accidentally making said armor useless (leaving some form of semi-large gap) in that area. Would it be too much to hope for that you happen to have a video on that sort of topic by any chance?

I’m just starting off. Got my belt leather this morning for exact same project so that’s uncanny. I’m using rabbit skin glue instead of water. It’s the binding agent in gesso, thin as water, and will seal it. Love all your stuff, hi from England.

When making a bell for XXL or bigger, use a name plate at the back to join two belts together…this will give you length easily. Also it makes three pieces that are better lengths to work with. Good luck 🤞 and enjoy the process.

I have a question my friend has a 60 inch waist line and he is wanting someone to make him a leather belt, we are wondering what the total length of leather would they need to finish a belt his size, currently he has no belts at all, he has been using rope to hold his pants up
