That is one solid workbench top! I always enjoy seeing the multi-router in action. Looks like its carvers-bench-building-month, Krtwood has just finished his, and I put the leg sub assemblies for mine in clamps a little over an hour ago

I will watch your channel for it. I am looking forward to seeing how it all turns out, but it has been slow going with all the saw orders. All the best my friend.

I had never heard of the drum sander trick before glue up before. One more reason to keep that tool on my wish list.

Very interesting build. Now I know for sure that one of those vises is not what I want to use for my workbench. I’m thinking something like the wagon vise on your workbench would be better.
@bearkatwood63546 жыл бұрын
I have a wagon vise, which is basically a tail vise that is captured with the front skirt. I wish that I had used a traditional tail vise like this rather than a wagon vise, they are very limited in what they can do. The vise on the new bench is you see actually has two openings. To the left near the handle there is a cantilevered chop that is useful for say dovetailing panels as you would with a front vise. The wagon vise doesn't offer access to the opening in the front which can be useful for carving work or holding large pieces. All in all I would opt to go with this style of tail vise had I to do it again. But it is a personal choice and really depends on the users approach and needs. Thanks so much for watching.

I am interested in one of your dovetail saws. Is there a site I can visit? What is your general price? I'm on a fixed income and disabled, so I might have to save up for a few months. The bench top looks great, where did you get the code mechanism?
@mvcgrider6 жыл бұрын
Thomas Russell here's the site I used to purchase a saw a couple months ago www.bearkatwood.com/saws.html. Follow him on Instagram for periodic updates on the saws.

I have stopped taking orders for saws for this year, but I do have saws available that are ready made and should be a bit cheaper through craftsmanstudio.com I just sent him a set of dovetail and carcass saws in myrtlewood. What is the code mechanism you were referring to? If you meant the vise hardware, I bought it through woodcraft, it is the small tail vise kit.

I quit watching this cause, who TF has this much room with all these tools. This was like watching an “Assembly Line” at a factory. I watch KZbin channels to learn how to do things with normal home shop tools and such. Stuff like this kinda perturbs me I think because I believe people like this just want to show off their toys. Obviously this guy knows what he’s doing, f’n showoff. hahahahaha

Mabye they should call it "ME tube" ;) I get where you are coming from, not many people have all the goodies I have amassed, I will try to do a few videos where I go after a topic that can be tackled in the home garage. I have a fun work space and like to do different projects, admittedly this one is a bit selfish as it is for my shop. Thanks for watching and your feedback.

@@bearkatwood6354 I do see where the guy is coming from, I'm pretty much brand new to woodworking and barely have enough tools to make a workbench. Not sure where I should start with my journey. The bench looks great by the way.
@bearkatwood63545 жыл бұрын
@@jeffjohnson5908 A couple saws and a few chisels can get you started. The video was for entertainment and inspiration, not necessarily showing you how to make it. There are plenty of videos out for that. If I can help, I am glad to and want to see more people making.
