This project is lovely. My mother in law made a carpet one many years ago about 3’ x 5’. She made it to keep by her hearth. She cropped her strands to not be as long as yours however. She has since passed but I kept it. She was like a second mom to me. Nice remembrance of her.

This is beautiful! I used to do these with kits when I was a kid. A photo of one popped up the other day and has inspired me to try it out again. The last time I worked on one was with fabric rags during the 90s and it was much harder. My mother started it, I tried to work on it awhile, but eventually handed it back to her. It’s probably sitting unfinished somewhere 😭

It turned out so well! Lovely. Great tips at the end too. I was trying to work out whether to go with punch needle or latch hook project and given the length of time it took I think I’ll try punch needle first. Thank you for your videos, they are so informative and your work is beautiful. Love from Australia xo

Hi!! Thanks for the video. Though it looks like the link to your shop under this video is messed up. You might want to take a look at it. It takes me to a picture of a pink milkshake and has a quote underneath about the milkshake. Just a friendly FYI if you didn't know !! :)

I wrap my yarn around the card the short way and just cut once. Cutting it off the card and having to cut it again seems less accurate.

The yarn in a real Latch Hook package comes ready cut into 6 inch strands, you don't have to cut it yourself.

So I’ve been doing Latch hook since I was a teen. My advice because you never done this before you should get one that is pre-patterned. That way you can learn. Because you cutting that yarn like that is way too long. If you need me to do a video to show you I can

i see the company is we are knitters but its clear they are not great with latch hook kits. if you make the length guide half you can only cut it once and it will b h length. the other method is faster from my experience. and you can keep few strands in hand to go faster as well. but in the end crafting is all about what works for you and does not need to be exacting

4min10sek: Hmm, I do not see why you need this special Latch Hook needle for this shown technique...a simple crocheting needle would do nicely for this shown way..as well imho
