Making a soft plastic swimbait from scratch

If you've seen one swimbait, you've seen them all but making one from scratch is a whole another ball game. This is the process I went through while trying to make my first custom swimbait.

Great looking bait. I've found when using a clay like that, if you spray polyurethane or uv resin to seal it, demolding is easier and the final mold are better too. Thanks for a great video.

@@TheNeverendingProjectsList something else I do when I make a mold I like is to pour a hard resin in the mold to make an exact copy. More durable and if you need to make another mold, it easy.

@@Tam58851520I was able to glue that one back together but I did think about trying that as it would defiantly be easier to remove something that was a little more solid. I still need to give this one a proper test before I make any more molds though.

Awesome video!!!! I love the pink ones! I’m going to start making My own baits soon….. I’m on a right budget so I’m having to get a little at a time and I’m thinking about recycling my used plastic baits to use to make more baits lol thank you for the video!!!! Ur awesome!!

You can remelt old baits just be careful as some of the plastics manufactures use can be different and some of it can stink really bad when remelting.

have you tried to pour a swim bait plastic body and worm plastic tail to give the tail more action ?
