Interesting, but it's pretty useless if you don't say what you're doing and what chemicals you're adding, and in what proportions (weight). Is there any hope of knowing? Nice music anyway😊

Great videos, thanks!! I'm looking to make oil paint from these bugs - do they have to undergo the same process or can i use a simple grinding and sifting process? thanks !!

Any luck? I played around with the bugs and found that boiling in alcohol is pretty useless. They don't hardly dissolve in alcohol... If you have 5% water in the alcohol then they dissolve in the water. (Alcohol just boils off). After that, as far as I can tell he mixes with the alum solution and then let's all the liquid boil off again and the powder is some sort of mixture of alum and cochineal whatever, and adding that powder to the oil is not really creating a transparent oil varnish, but rather an oil vanish with that powder suspended. So I'm sure I must be missing something. Wondering if anybody has any experience with this.
