Okay, so I have a question. I assume that bass is a standard 34” scale like any 4-string. How do you get it to tune that low???

You can get a bass vst and write the bass line using midi. I suppose you can also use a guitar and then pitch shift it down but you may not get the desired effect. But if you have the money you might want to check submission audios bass libraries out. If you don’t want to spend the money try pitch shifting. Personally I just use djinnbass from submission audio. And I have a bass… I just don’t feel like keeping the strings fresh and maintaining the bass. Might sell it soon.

Exactly as Beastly said - you don't need a bass to get bass sounds. Lots of DAWs will have semi-convincing basses built in, but there's a bunch of modern VST basses that will likely give you much better results. -Kai
