This challenge is super instructive! Everyone should take a single synth and create a song with it as a final step of study, to summarize the knowledge of the instrument. Love this videos!

I miss you, coatseller, come back. Hope everything is ok with you. I love your videos and your music. Your album sun helped me a lot during one of the worst moments of my chronic depression. I would play it on repeat all day and always made me smile. The song river, specially, since my best friend calls me river, (word play with my name Oliver, that I turned into Old River) felt like it was being directed at me somehow. I also love your personality and how you can seem so calm and collected but then comes out this unexpected, unpredictable personality full of charm that comes from knowing that’s just you without a filter, unmasked which is another thing I relate to in your videos.

Great song! Man, I love that Roland filter. Still my favorite analog filter of all time. It doesn't matter what synth model, Roland just has that smooth, dripping sound. Anyway, love your opening up with the vocal takes. I didn't know you were originally from the mean streets of Detroit! That was hilarious. Now that you quit the pesky day job for awhile, you need to focus on an album to put up on Bandcamp or similar sight for sale. You have serious musical chops. This song was very impressive and you were just messing around. I would love to hear what happens when you really dive deep.

Man, I love the SH-101! even for an (originally very cheap) simple one oscillator synth, it's still my all-time favourite mono-synth. Back in the day my first synth was a Yamaha DX21 that I dragged out of a skip, apart from one wonky key it worked perfectly. My first analogue synth though was the SH-101 that I bought for £149 from a ghetto pawnshop with my first paycheque. My first DAW was a pirate copy of OctaMED on the Amiga 600 that my Mum got me for Christmas so I'd stay out of the seedy video arcades in my hometown. I couldn't afford a Kenton Midi to CV so I bought a knock-off version for £20 out of the classified at the back of a comic book (Viz). My first Midi interface was a DIY effort I made by connecting a few wires from a 5-pin Midi cable onto a spare Amiga printer lead. And my first mixer was an old valve-driven 8-channel mixer that was most probably from the early 60s that I picked up for free from a local movie theatre that was being refurbished. With a handful of old guitar stomp boxes and a borrowed TR-909 and an MC-202 hooked up to a TB-303, I actually churned out an E.P. of Hardcore and Acid house tunes in a weekend with help from a friend that had Grade 6 Piano. I really wish I could find that cassette, before I bought a Tascam DA-20 DAT all I could afford to master on was an Akai HiFi using a bunch of TDK SA C90s that a friend stole out of Woolworths! 😂
