Did you make the 4th axis or was it a commercially made version? Looks really cool

I made the turning spindle completely on my milling machine. The turned parts on the Z-axis. Unfortunately I have no video of it.

@@9voltprojects after a second look I think the noise came from the end-mill not the spindle.

@@9voltprojects do you have any blueprints for your spindle? I built a CNC machine but I currently use a wood router and it is not very accurate. I have a mill and a lathe and could really use a decent spindle on my CNC machine

A good starting point to get familiar with high precision spindle design is from FAG „The Design of Rolling Bearing Mountings“ and “Super Precision Bearings“

Do you write the gcode yourself? or use a program

I use sheet cam or some of the Mach3 wizzards...but I would still like to learn GCode programming..someday ;-)
