I enjoyed seeing a bit about how one can work with stones, and the style here is nice; but to me, the thought and engraving skills that went into the Te Amo ring with a heart in place of the O and the tiny stones for accent along with an overall thoughtful and absolutely unique design was on another level. This piece had an interesting design and the star carved behind the ruby is perfect for the shape of the silver surface it is set into. That star will probably play very well with light and make the ruby stand out. There is also the small matter that anything with a black star sapphire is wonderful in my book. Overall I like it, but it suffers in comparison to the Te Amo ring which was an absolute masterpiece.

Thank you for the high praise of my previous piece. The idea for this piece was to have something with a nice stone at an entry level price point for my viewers. The time that went into the 'Te Amo' ring definitely puts it in a different bracket. I'll be on the look out for an enticing black star.

LOL. I think it's time to replace that Bench Pin. That poor old thing looks like it was attacked by a Beaver ! hehe It definitely looks like it has seen lots of work. :) I'd love to have the equipment for jewellery making but I've got my money all tied up in Faceting Equipment and Rough Stones and I don't think I have the imagination to go with my creativity to come up with anything unique. Great Pendent.

Never! A Jeweler's bench pin has every nick divot and contour based on the work that's needed and every Jeweler's style for holding and securing work pieces is different, thus the array of bench pins. It's a constantly evolving workspace and that one has plenty of life left to give. DOWN TO THE NUB I SAY!

The Cello Fellow knows whats up - a bench pin is a sacrificial and sacred thing. It's meant to be gnawed on till the last nibble so that we can do great things. I think it was Bobby White (among a host of others im sure) that said, you should look at a jeweler's bench pen. If it isn't beat up... they're not really a jeweler. Enjoy your faceting~
