what do you think about making a new series based on genre mashing? like episode one could be garage drums x future bass melodics
@nokompass Жыл бұрын
neddie you should make some garage house like cloudnone and direct! I think your take on it would sound dope!
@korlmusic Жыл бұрын
Yo Neddie I want to thank you for doing future bounce, definitely a baller af gigabrainiac maneuver fr ngl. Here's just some feedback I want to give as someone who's produced this genre for a few years now: - The most important thing in future bounce is the lead, therefore it should be at the front of the mix, then clap/kick (depending on the style; Dirty Palm normally has his clap louder than his kick but it also peaks just before the kick since it's pre-shifted so idk), then bass, then chords and bg ambience. I say this because I noticed that your mix had more of a focus on the bass and drums. Something that can help your lead stand out more is by adding a completely mono saw layer to your stack (also the leads are supposed to have strong transients) - Another thing I noticed is that when you added reverb to the leads and chords, is that you didn't automate the reverb. This helps maintain focus on these elements (mainly the lead) and keeps them from slipping into the background. You typically want the reverb throws to happen after every note (and compress/ott after you add reverb to make the throw more apparent). - I would also have automated the cutoff of the chords (saw down motion on a lowpass filter on every chord hit) to make it sound more clean and also keep it from fighting for attention with the lead. - The bass is very najs in this track too tbh! Personally I would make every bass note long to the point of where it touches the next note (I think it's called legato but i may have itsy bitsy brai), this way the sub is present throughout the drop. This is of course unless you want a choppy feel, in which case you can break the bass up with a short bassey percussion oneshot (with mono lowend). Pitch automation for the bass is also pretty good and can help keep it from feeling stagnant or too jumpy; it's generally just nice to have when transitioning in big leaps. The biggest thing that bothered me about the bass, though, was that I feel like it was going too high and that you should have reduced around 150-200hz a little more (tbh this is just my preference for when I make future bounce but ye) - I also noticed that you may have been thinking about using a pre-shifted clap and then didn't lmao. But I would highly recommend it unless you want that slappy feel yk? - Here is the final thing: there are usually more elements in the second half of the drop (which you obviously know), but normally arps aren't really used. If they are, then it's only in the second half to give the listener time to become familiar with the melody in the first half of the drop before introducing more stuff. Hats should only be in the second half too but rides are pretty popular now throughout the entire drop (although Brooks likes to have them more present in the second half of his older drops) Okay that was all. I'm sorry for picking apart the project like this and I completely understand that you only worked on it for like 30 minutes and that you likely wouldn't have had time to do all the nitpicky stuff I just mentioned. I really appreciate you doing future bounce and uploading all of these baller videos so consistently, thank you and sorry for writing an entire book fr

You should try to make something similar to the glitchy stuff that Mid-Air Thief made in his album Crumbling. The genre is called folktronica. It might be too difficult to make without a guitar. You can probably use guitar samples though.

Could you do a pad tutorial at some point? Would be a big help for a lot of artists
@NeddieOfficial Жыл бұрын
I think a full vid is probably a bit overkill since the way I make them is pretty simple, the way I make them is I just write a little arpeggio or melody that essentially has all the notes that I want in my pad, so I treat it like a chord, but arpeggiated. Then I add a super long reverb and like 3 ping pong delays at 50% drywet, all of which have different delay speeds on the 'free' mode so that way you get really interesting arrhythmic notes

@NeddieOfficial Жыл бұрын
I just have a soft clipper on the master :-)
@rebirth4119 Жыл бұрын
He either has a limiter or hardclipper on the master. A limiter is an extreme form of compression that doesn't allow audio to go beyond a certain volume level. A hardclipper is basically the same thing but rather cuts the waveform causing distortion.
