WoW... I wish I had come across this a long time ago. This will be a cool project on a door frame. Then no switches or motion switches anywhere. Although it may get frustrating within the first couple months especially on drinking nights lol

Don't know if you guys read comments, but I have a problem after following the circuit. When I plug the battery in, the LED turns on and stays on. When I touch the blue paperclip wires together, the LED turns off, but separating them turns the LED back on. The yellow paperclip wires don'r do anything. I followed this guide and made sure everything was wired in correctly. What am I doing wrong?

Did you get an answer because the same issue. I switched the receptors thinking it was the issue. But the LED continues to stay on. Now I think it may be the ceramic capacitor...maybe I have the wrong one 🤦♀️ help!

@@jessicarlainez829, did you ever figure out your problem? I'm thinking you might have had the Capacitor or another component reversed. In my understanding I think that if the Capacitor is reversed in this type of circuit then it sends continuous power to the opposite side of the circuit because the Capacitor is then being used as a reversed Diode while the IC is thinking this everything correct therefore sends the power into a fully Closed Circuit though the opposite side of the circuit staying open giving the exact same problem you're getting. I definitely can tell you that the size of Capacitor should not give you this issue but a blown Capacitor very well could. Please let me know what your problem was if you ever fixed it because I'm extremely curious. Thanks!
