Making a Trackball Microview Breakout game

In this video I use an ICStation Trackball (Blackberry style) and hook it up to a Sparkfun Microview - a controller with a display built in. I get this setup working, with a foray into a logic analyser and then use it to make a breaking-bricks-with-a-ball game.

The Trackball board was supplied by www.icstation.com, the microview was purchased from Sparkfun via kickstarter. The ideas and build are my own work.

+MobiusHorizons I'm yet to make videos on it, but I've been building classic games using python turtle for use in a coder dojo. I've done tutorial steps to build up into working games, but also took one way further, working towards a pretty detailed shoot-em-up. I am a software engineer by trade, so lots of code is in my comfort zone.

So I opened your video to check for a project on the trackball, and noticed the faulty roller on mine, two seconds later you find your faulty roller. I think I know now why they are cheap. Nice video!

The faulty roller is full of crud when opened up, even after cleaning it still goes slower than the rest

i just bought the cheapest listed as "salea logic analyzer" it should look pretty much like what he opened in the product image.
