Love these longer episodes! And what a result, especially considering the short amount of time available. Been watching more of your older episodes and am continually amazed at what you guys can achieve. Aden is a star sculpturer and nice to see Sean in front of the camera more than usual. _Really missed Jess though_

Another fantastic project and video from the Studios. I know that these longer format videos take a lot more editing, but they are really great. This prop looked great in the final film, although the lack of a proper interior bulkhead is a little noticeable. I wish that I could give this video more than one thumbs up.

I love your work and I think the van was one of the most challenging. A curiosity, if you can answer: what was the cost of this project for your end customer?

VERY GOOD JOB... AND GREAT FOAM CUTTER, IT MUST HAVE A GREAT POWER TRANSFORMER TO BE ABLE TO HEAT SUCH A LONG WIRE, COULD YOU TELL ME WHAT POWER IT IS ? I WOULD SAY THAT IT IS MANUFACTURED BY YOURSELF, IS IT CORRECT ? 😃

Beautiful work. What do you use for the plastic coat? I’m currently looking for a good product to use as a sealer on the outside of a 3-D print. Thanks

Very cool work, and I am a keen follower of the videos ... Can you tell me the name of the material you use on the foam and gives you durability and strength .. Thank you
@AdenHynesSculptureStudios3 жыл бұрын
We usually use glass fibre, or in this case, a 2 part plastic mix (not massively strong, just a thin shell) fibreglass is much stronger

As someone who is just learning about this kind of thing, I was just curious about one thing. In this specific scenario, would it have been possible to rent a van and do molds of it section by section and avoid having to carve one out of scratch? Not saying it would have been the better way to go, but genuinely curious if possible? Thanks
@AdenHynesSculptureStudios2 жыл бұрын
Trust me Joe. We said to them the exact same thing. We actually said...... Why can't you actually just get a real van?.... For the amount of time it was on stage they could literally have just driven an already existing wrapped van in 😂 but hey! Without the commission, we wouldn't have made this project and video! Silver lining and all that 🤣

Give the scenery dock at Pinewood Studios a ring, they would probably be only too glad to give you an answer.

You guys never use projectors to transfer an image onto a block of foam? Saves a lot of time.
@AdenHynesSculptureStudios11 ай бұрын
Hey Mark, we do indeed. Sometimes, a projector can throw an image a little out of proportion by the time it starts projecting the wider areas. So for something like this, simply drawing it by referencing an image is just more accurate. For something smaller, we might though. Thank for the comment!

Why not just buy an existing VAN?
@ArmouryTerrain3 жыл бұрын
As some one with a theatre background, I can see this being much cheaper and easier to use on the film stage than ripping everything out of an existing van to make it light enough to maneuver on stage. there is also the issue of safety and storage and disposal.

Because then we wouldn't have a project to share with you guys. Duh! 🤣
