This is such a cute momento. I've loved hair jewelry since I was a kid and had found them sweet. I hate how modern day sees them and wish it had a better reputation today.

Thank you so much!! I think it’s so special too. I expect I’ll get some negative reactions probably haha, but it’s like the most real kind of friendship necklace you can have imo 😂

I never thought about the hair being glued into strips first, but now it makes perfect sense

I've always thought of hair jewelry as mourning jewelry, but why should they have all of the fun? haha You have inspired me to have my best friend of over 40 decades send me some of her hair to make us each one of these lockets.😊 Yours is gorgeous.❤

❤ such a lovely memento ❤ I'd love to make hair art one day! Wish I'd kept some of my hair when I went short as I'm never going back long!

You could do it with wig hair of your color! I know it’s not the same, but it would work well for the project if you wanted to try hair art!

Hi, great video! Just had a few questions about the process, firstly, is it important to clean the hair before glueing it? And when you say you attempted to use resin glue, do you mean you filled the locket with it to preserve it but it didn't work? If it doesn't work, what are other methods to preserve the hair?

Thank you! I’m not sure if the hair being clean will affect it too much, but it might be better to use clean hair opposed to oily hair. For the secondary locket I made I put it in sort of a recessed box locket and filled it with resin. It cured just fine, but it’s sort of distorted, the hair making it look a little odd. The first one that I made that was just sandwiched between two pieces of glass worked much better. I hope that helps!

P.S. Do you have a source for the round locket you used?
@Incandescentkiki11 ай бұрын
I'm in Australia rn and cant access the link, but if you search "round locket hobby lobby" it should show up! if its not available to buy in your area any "floating locket" should work!

Did you do anything with the hair before adding the glue? Like shampoo it or treat it with anything?
