Watched your Bicolline videos and your Hynafol videos. I've only really gone to ren fairs and loved to dress up for them. But I was so nervous about doing anything LARP as I felt I'd stick out like a sore thumb. But now I think I have the courage to do it! I am going to plan on doing both Hynafol and Bicolline this year. I'm so excited and nervous.

Your video just popped up in my feed, & I'm so glad it did! I've been a regular at Bristol Renaissance Faire in Wisconsin for years. Always looking for new ideas, & you gave me a ton! Thanks soooo much! You have yourself a new sub! 🙋♀️😍 For my pirate outfit, I found an old net that was used as a hammock for stuffed animals. I hang it from my belt as a fish net. I think it cost me a quarter at the yard sale 😁. I have so many different outfits, & mix & match all the time. I'll be binging your videos for more ideas👍.

This looks like great fun. I have only been to european ones and they are just more atmospheric due to the authentic sourroundings and the advantage of having old castles and woods with history around, but I saw some of your videos and of your friend lanchen and I was pleasantly surprised that the american larps look alot better than I expected. If you have not seen it, I would recommend Drachenfest, Kaltenberger Ritterturnier and Epic Empires. They are in Germany and absolutely worth a visit. While Drachenfest and Epic Empires are actual LARPs, Kaltenberger Ritterturnier is more of a fest, but it is so very cool to see. Check it out here on the tube, there are some fantastic vids about all of them. Enjoy! :)

This larp is pretty strict on historical accurate visuals. If you use a flashlight some folks might actually confront you and say you’re ruining their immersion (this made the event very hard to film-even with permission 😅)

Haha no not at all! I’d say 90% of people don’t use an accent, this larp is fantasy so you don’t have to be historically accurate aside from Renaissance looking clothing!

Ok so I'm just happened to come across this video and I have to comment and say this looks absolutely awesome! I wish they had this stuff going on when I was younger bcuz I would've gone to every one of em lol I don't mean to sound corny or anything but I always used to wish I could go back in time and experience what it's like to live back then and this is the closest thing you can get to that unless you happen to have a time machine laying around lol. This is amazing and I can tell from the video that you guys really had a great fun time. I wish I was in my 20's bcuz I'd be all over these events lol

It's truly a magical experience! You should definitely check out some events if you can! There are people all the way up into their 80s at these events. There’s no limit, if it looks fun you can do it too! You also can do RV camping at this one or stay in a nearby hotel if the camping seems too much

@Incandescentkiki if I was to do it I'd stay on site and camp out in a tent like everyone else so I can get the authentic experience. One thing I was wondering about is are there showers there to clean up after a sweaty day or no just go to the pond or stream lol?

@ yes!! There are two shower buildings and I never waited for one. If you went after a big battle, there would probably be a line, but I would go around the evening before dinner.

I suggest checking out refuge Larp. It’s not as high budget as bicoline or hynafal but we tell some great stories XD and are cheaper/most chapters run monthly games.

You think the renaissance is the Middle Ages, you confuse the Middle Ages with fantasy and your garb is terrible. Sneakers, modern pants, shirts, sunglasses, incredibly bad weapons. The list could go on and on.

Important note is that food vendors you might expect at a full ren faire will NOT be present at Hynafol. There is a single food vendor / meal plan for scheduled times but you will not be able to buy a turkey leg or chicken on a stick whenever you want.

Yes to this! There are players who offer food for in game currency (as seen in my full video with the bratwurst & fae pecan brownies we got) but if you don’t get the meal plan you’ll need to bring all your own food. I still recommend snacks and drinks in your tent even with the meal plan!

Awesome video! Thanks for sharing! I’ve had so many amazing story moments like doing a ritual to banish the crone, finding out my sister was a figment of my imagination, partying in the fae realm. But I think some of my favorite times are just sitting in front of a fire learning about other characters and eating delicious food in good company. Immaculate vibes.
