“You know those people that can go a week without washing and their hair looks perfect. Bestie, I can’t go a day.” Yesssss I felt so heard when Katie said this 🥹💛 My fine ginger hair is the same way.

Yeah I wish I could go a week. I will say, now in my 30s, I can wash my hair every other day - and I think it took a while for my head to get used to, but really it's fine now. I'm hoping that one day I'll get to every third, but we'll see.

I'm also a ginger (thick hair, though) and I am the same. I can't go more than a day because the oily feeling in my hair makes me feel insanely anxious (one of my triggers for anxiety is things that are unpleasant feeling...like, I can't do anything else if I have something stuck between my teeth and I can feel it because it makes me panic, so I have floss stashed everywhere). I also have depression and the anxiety I feel over my hair getting oily is probably the only upside to dealing with both mental health issues. The anxiety is likely the only reason I've never devolved so bad into my depression that I couldn't shower.

@@altariia Mine took a few weeks to sort itself out from being a total greaseball when I first tried not using shampoo, but I have no regrets about quitting shampoo, a scalp scrub under the shower when I would have washed my hair with shampoo was sufficient once my scalp realized I wasn't stripping out all the natural moisturizers, shampoos for extra oily hair made it even worse... After a decade without shampoo, I could go a month without a hair wash. I usually don't, but I no longer get lots of dandruff and impossibly itchy if I don't "wash" my hair every two days, I think I may have had a sensitivity to something in my shampoos cause I'd get so itchy if I didn't wash every other day... Now I actually have to add oil to the end of my braid when it's dry in the winter.

I just recently started using your shampoo and conditioner bars. I was skeptical having thick, course, curly hair. I LOVE them!! Best shampoo and condition I’ve used!

I have similar hair and used to wash everyday and sleep with it damp. Apparently sleeping in wet/damp hair makes it get oily faster. Started blowdrying my hair after a shower and found I could wash every other or every 2 days rather than every day. I have a low maintenance style and only straighten it, but a simple non-fancy blow dry has saved me a lot of shampooing. It really does make a difference.

I love shampoo and conditioner bars. I remember your video on the Syndopour bars, which encouraged me to try the product, and I love those bars for my hair because they are pH neutral. They don't last as long as traditional shampoo bars, but the way my hair feels after using it, plus I can add my favorites scents, makes them worthwhile for personal use. I feel I'm spending less on shampoo in general, because my regular shampoo is no longer available to buy, and the one I found that could sub for it is really expensive, so making my own shampoo bars, or even buying them on occasion, actually saves me money. I have some of your shampoo and conditioner bars, which I've still have yet to try out, but I think they will do great for my hair. I was actually tempted by this kit, and I might consider trying it out, though I will use one of my favorite scents instead.

Okay, I just used the shampoo and conditioner today. My hair feels WONDERFUL! I will probably use less conditioner when warm weather arrives. The air is cold and dry, so my hair tends to react to that by needing more conditioner. But even at that, I didn't have to use very much at all.

I have always had great hair, but since I switched to using Royalty Soaps Shampoo and Conditioner my hair has been in excellent condition. I know that sounds like a commercial, but I am 100% sold on them. They last forever, clean and condition well, and leave my hair glossy and healthy. I only wish there were more scents. Oh, man, Kansas Water is horrible. It's worse depending on where you are. KCK is pretty rough, but not as bad as Tonganoxie. Wichita is ok, Leavenworth is kinda hard.

I've been using shampoo bars for so long. Anither benefit is just that you can put ingredients that are really good for your hair in them that you have a really hard time putting in liquid shampoo because its really hard to keep it suspended in a liquid and it settles out really quickly, or its not able to be held shelf stable in a liquid form. I live in a really dry place (less than 20% humidity year round on average unless it is actively raining) and there are so many shampoo bars that are so much more hydrating than any liquid. I recently tried a conditioner bar instead of what i was doing before which was liquid leave in after shower deep conditioner and Im struggling a bit more with that though. being conditioner, it doesnt lather, and i stuggle to get enough out to feel like im actually adequately coating my hair. I might just have chosen a bad brand though.

I like these kit test videos. Almost double as guides for using them and have lots of info regarding the ingredients. Two things: 1- I'm one of those 'girlies' who can go a week without washing and look fabby. Shampoo bars *typically* make it so I have to wash again sooner. I've tried multiple brands and they all do it. My hair just hangs onto the oils, it takes much longer to wash out, and I have to wash again in two or three days (as opposed to the usual seven-to-ten). I've even done the baking soda and rice water pre-wash methods. Personally, I would not recommend them or the bars. It's just not for me, so I am biased against them. I love the concept, just not the application. 2- A quarter inch of snow?! That snow storm that came through blessed my area with eight inches. Of course, the cities and towns were totally unprepared and lacked the proper resources for handing it in the first place, but my dogs have been having a great time ploughing through it.

I've never used a shampoo bar before. How do you know if one is good for dandruff? Would it be labeled that way or do i just need to know what ingredients work?

"It's a snow day here in Texas, which means that we have, maybe, 1/8 of an inch of snow on the ground" omg I remember having to hold onto the fence along a major road to get to/from school since I couldn't see the sidewalk during blizzards that were so bad when I was a kid. Northern Utah though. We haven't had a storm that bad in a long time though.

I used to get very greasy hair very quickly and the shampoos for extra oily hair only made it and the dandruff worse as my scalp compensated for the oils being stripped out of it... I quit using shampoo (I switched to just a scalp scrub with my fingers under the shower) and it took a month or so of this where I was a complete greaseball (was between jobs at the time thankfully) and once that got sorted out, I was fine. I used to have to wash every other day at least or else I'd itch so much I'd scratch myself bloody so I think there might be something generically in shampoo that irritated my scalp, cause I don't get that now at all, and though I usually don't go longer than a week without a scalp scrub in the shower, now that my scalp is used to it, I could go a month if I wanted to be a total little gobllin... I often use a handful of conditioner on my dry hair while waiting for the shower to warm up but as long as it doesn't touch my scalp, I'm not itchy, and no more dandruff. I'm also finding that the scents in hair products bother me more than they used to as well... also my maximum length has increased by about six inches, which amazes me, because I always did all the things you're supposed to do to encourage hair growth and it'd still stop about bra line. Now I can touch the end of my braid to my waistband.. I know other people who've tried this and their scalp did not sort itself out and they went back to using products again, but one of them has found that a vinegar rinse and a baking soda rinse (I can't remember which order) has been better than any shampoo ever was for their very long superfine curly hair. I'm also a "go to sleep on damp hair and sort it out in the morning" type, I keep mine braided most of the time so no matter what shenanigans it gets up to overnight, I can just brush it back into a braid and nobody knows I looked like Medusa when I woke up :) Like so many things, I think it's a matter of figuring out what's right for you and your body.

I want to learn how to make my own shampoo bars so bad, but there is absolutely no way i’d be able to use them all before they went bad 😭 the shampoo bars i buy from royalty soaps quite literally last me 6 months so if the bars from this kit lasted anywhere near as long that is 3 years worth of shampoo
@laurenjerzak852613 күн бұрын
You have to train your hair to go without washing. I had my hair up to 6 days and then needed to wash daily after a beach trip which restarted my hair needing to be washed every other day. Now I'm up to 3 to 4 days. I'm not the best person to explain this but if you do research it my help explain
@bunhelsingslegacy354910 күн бұрын
I second this, when I quit shampoo it took a while to get to the point I'm at now where I literally can go a month without the scalp scrub under water that is how I wash my hair now. When I first started this I still had to do it every other day like when I'd used shampoo.

Only time I've ever tried to shampoo bar it was at Dollar Tree and I was like I hate it that being said the Dollar Tree is walking distance from my house I go down there regularly and that is where I buy my shampoo and conditioner usually I have been for many many years religious user of VO5 but then the conditioners started getting thinner and it just wasn't doing the job anymore it seemed like it was being watered down so I'm using a different brand that's also at Dollar Tree now but it's a larger bottle for the same price and it works better
