So true, shooting and making something is so hard! You’re worried about shots and angles and if what you’re actually making is coming out good. Love the mix of leather and the waxed canvas. It’ll have a vintage feel the more wear it gets.

Ryan. You have inspired me. I enjoy woodworking but have always liked the smell of leather and have had thoughts of leather work in the past. I'm making a stitching pony and have ideas of bringing it to work so I can get some stuff done while I'm on night shift. Thanks form Qld.

Hey, great work (on the apron and on the video). I just had to say, when you made the comment about how much harder it is to make something AND film it, I almost knocked off my headphones nodding in agreement! On the rare occasion that I sew something and DON'T film it, I'm always amazed at how much quicker it seems. You're doing some good stuff here, thanks for sharing and keep it up!

Thanks for the videos brother ...they`ve been a real life changer for me!! Though I have yet to 'officially' start anything ...because of you and your channel, I am getting all the pieces of the puzzle lined up. Just bought a TechSew 2700 and I`m building cabinets and workbenches as we speak ...and last night I ordered my first legit materials! Some 5.5/6oz Chap Side Mahogany leather from Springfield Leather, and several yards of waxed canvas from Alex M Lynch ...some 19.84oz and some heavy duty 24.12oz. Currently working as a 3D modeler in the gaming industry, but its something I`ve done for twenty-five years now, and I`m ready for a plan B. Something that well help me become geographically independent ...because in my current field I have to go where the work is. So again, forget any monetary gains you may get from these (I`m not sure how that works, or if you even do?) ...just wanted you to know that you have changed some lives along the way! Cheers, and my very best to you and yours! Drew

The copper rivet set I used had two openings on the end. One to dome the rivet like yours does. But the other puts a dimple in the end which spreads the rivet out evenly. Our rivets were the right length since we did the same operations all the time. So you would put on washer. Dimple rivet. Flatten rivet with just the hammer one or two moderate blows. Then dome the rivet. TaDa. FWIW

I've watched this video many times over the last year. It always inspires me to think about ways to "keep going" with leathercrafting and doing something you love. For myself, one of the barriers to constant projects with leathercraft is the cost of leather of various thickness and quality. This video seems like a great opportunity to work on a very symmetric project where you use all your leather skills and also see the opportunity for mixed media projects and a way to save money. Thanks again for making this video and showing your love and enjoyment of leathercraft! Do you think of the cost to a new student when you make your videos? I would love to know your thought process for things like this...so inspiring.
