Chuck, I used to be a faithful viewer and commented on your live videos every Wednesday but for multiple reasons life got in the way and I no longer have that specific time slot available to me. I’ve forgotten how much fun, excitement and encouragement you bring to this craft. I’m carrying some of your joyful energy into the shop today to help me finish some projects I’ve been dreading. Thank you.

Chuck, here´s a huge Belgian fan. As a starting professional leathercrafter, every time I watch your tutorials, I find the tools and convidence I was looking for to work new projects out.

Great tip about not roughing the top grain where we want the layers to meet flush!

Chuck, I would have added a rivet at side of the opening into the sheath. Yes I have no doubt that the heavier thread will be sufficient to hold the sheath together. I always air on the side of “more is better”! These Utility holsters take a real beating with the tool going in and out. After awhile the leather is going to stretch and “May” come loose. In a previous like, I used a lot tools that were thrust into and pulled out of the holsters. I speak from experience. This is my opinion and only my opinion! All of you can make up your own minds whether to go the extra step or not. Best regards, Richard……

We have a vacuum sealer for storing food. I needed to make a holster for small pistol. I wrapped the gun in plastic wrap, put the leather around it and molded it with the the vacuum sealer. It worked fantastically! Let it sit in the sealed plastic for a bit then pulled it out to finish drying.

Agree! These are the best! I did the one for the box knife and it is still working perfectly. I just coated the leather with Sno-Seal since I like the natural leather patina.

Love your videos! They’ve come in handy when I’ve made various projects. I’d like to humbly suggest that you tie an overhand knot at the the end, rather than a square knot. The latter can actually work loose (that’s why it is also called a reef knot, meant for quickly untying in a storm at sea).

Nice video buddy. It's been a while since I got to watch you make something useful. I can't wait till I'm physically able to make things again. That is a nice pouch an you could easily add a smaller pouch on top of the outside for a smaller side cutter, making it a double tool holder. I liked that you left it natural. Looks better to me this way. Great job buddy.

when stitching i make a loop on one side to put the needle through so it tightens itself, so if one part of the thread is cut or damaged it wont unravel the rest of the project

If you want to dye the leather, should you do so before wet molding?
@Freeman-Dl708 ай бұрын
I'd do it after it has dried from wet molding. That way the dye, would seep deeper into the leather.

Tell me - what is the price of a complete set of tools in a fully ready-to-work workshop in the USA. We are talking not only about hand tools, but also about sewing machines.
@Freeman-Dl708 ай бұрын
Tens of thousands of dollars.

I need to center this on the center line. ... Chooses a tool that is symmetrical and has an obvious center line. (not a criticism just thought it was funny)
