New subbie here.. love ur technique. I’m a beginner going to give it a try on three 24x38 canvas. My colors are variations of grey, white, beige, gold (will do very min streaks on this) I find this way better now I’m going to get that roller u have and return the other stuff I have. This way is less work. Do u recommend after I put my compound on the board that I paint the entire board white and the. Start my colors? Also do you have a video on how to frame your canvas

awesome! I personally paint a coat of white after adding texture like this to give a uniform background. I do not have a proper framing video as I rarely do it :/

I have no experience in making art just in the appreciation of it. I loved the art you shared and created in this video! My question, did you paint the canvas white after the spackling paste dried or did you simple add you color?
@AddiArts
@AddiArts 3 жыл бұрын
Yes I painted it all white after applying the paste!

Hi , Greetings from Birmingham , England . I really love these pictures . I have not used a roller in my own abstracts before , but after seeing this video two days ago ; I went out and bought a roller today . I can imagine that Payne's grey would work well also because of the beautiful blue - black shades that come . I like all your videos and your taste in music is real cool ! Best wishes for your future work .

I used your technique in a sketchbook and loved it. I went back in with white to tone down the roller marks and added some pencil lines. I did this a few years ago and forgot! It is a very satisfying technique. Almost too easy/fun and I got bogged down with too much detail imo since. Do you have good responses with these? Sorry, if it seems like a stupid question!?🙃

Cool creativity~~~love your work. I noticed your large paintings in the background, seems like the perfect sizes. What sizes do you prefer with large ones? I have a 34x48 hardboard I am working on~~lol, it's too damn big. Oh yeah~~~speaking of cheap texture paste, I use tile adhesive from Home Depot~~works great. Thank you for taking time out to answer questions.

Thank you! Yep I primarily do larger paintings, usually around 5' x 6', it's a lot of space to fill!

Your video description says "thick" texture" how thick do you apply the spackle I tried it out with experimenting and after it was done it just started crumbling off... im gonna try it again but go thinner on the spackle
@AddiArts
@AddiArts 11 ай бұрын
Yes after experimenting with other mediums, I would not go back to spackle. It's too delicate and non-flexible. I've been using latex caulking lately and it's been working great!
@beersport
@beersport 4 жыл бұрын
Do you use hardboard? If so, how do you stabilize the larger formats so it doesn't warp or flex and crack the paint?
@AddiArts
@AddiArts 4 жыл бұрын
No i don't use hardboard. If you're using acrylics, they won't crack and are able to flex once dried. But as for the joint compound I used in this video for texture, I would imagine that would crack, we'll find out!

When you paint on an unstretched canvas, do you then stretch onto a frame?
@AddiArts
@AddiArts 4 жыл бұрын
Most of my paintings are painting on unstretched canvas, and only when they are ready to be hung somewhere do I stretch them.
