If I was going to use navy blue, lime, and light grey, (Seattle Seahawks colors) should I start with a certain color first from these three or the order they should go for a better effect? Thanks

Try darker colors first !

Do you just tack up your unprimed canvas while you work on it and then put it on a wooden frame?❓

exactly!

Just embarking on resurecting my painting. As a result, I'm learning basics. I like this particular background and similar works you share. One of the questions that has propted up concerns paint viscosity. What type of paint are you using, fluid, heavy body etc. do you generally use? Do you also reccomend any particular brand of acrylics. THANX for your info and inspiration.

Hi there! Happy to hear you are resurrecting your painting! For this style of background I would recommend using a thicker paint, I used a heavy body windsor newton acrylic. Recently I've been using Masters Touch heavy body acrylics, they are great quality at a good price point :)

J'aime beaucoup ! Là où certains pourraient y voir des gribouillis, j'y vois de l'Art de qualité ! J'adore certaines harmonies de couleurs et la spontanéité du geste. La musique, Mozart je pense est très inspiratrice. Félicitations pour votre travail 👍🩵

Do you use fixative over charcoal/pastels?
@AddiArts2 ай бұрын
I will once the piece is finished, I typically use a spray on fixative :)

Wow amazing! For oil pastels with acrylics, can I use charcoal and pastel fixative? According to my logic the layer that covers it would be adherent like acrylic on acrylic, right? I always buy my canvas without after but I thought that I had to put at least one layer of gesso. All my painting teachers affirmed this. But I love the "linen" color and its natural texture so much, I'm very happy to now keep my canvas natural. Thank you for your explanations. Your creative universe reminds me a little of the painter Adele Sypesteyn, I love her spectacular paintings. A new subscriber, from Montreal.

Addison - I’ve always heard you can’t mix acrylic and oil pastels except for when you put your oil pastel on top of the acrylic. Is this true and is this what you do in your work or do you ever put acrylic on top of pastel? If so , how do you keep them from smearing? How do you use the 2 mediums? Thanks for your help!
@AddiArts3 ай бұрын
Yes if you put acrylics over oil pastels they can scrape off easily. I will try to scrape off as much oil pastel mark first if I know I will use acrylics over it so the acrylics can adhere to as much canvas as possible. That's what I've found works well, but there is no right or wrong in art. 😁
