Then I saw your video and was so happy. After I watched your video, I did check out you profile and your videos and all I can say is that you have gotten a new subscriber😊

Hello,Omg those look so cute!! And may I know what brand of paint you use because I'm not sure what to use since some of their coverage isn't really that good. Love your videos btw❤❤
@sweetlifediy11 ай бұрын
Hi, thank you! 😊 I use the Mont Marte acrylic paint set that I got from Amazon! It’s a little thick so I use water to thin it out a bit and I usually need at least 2-3 coats for a good coverage! If you already have paint you can try painting a few more coats to see if you need new paints!
@twosistersdiy433911 ай бұрын
@@sweetlifediy Thank you soo much!!! I actually have monte marte but as you've said they do need more coats.

Hi, thank you for watching! I applied acrylic paint directly to the dried clay trays. I have heard applying a layer of primer can help the paint adhere to the trays but I have had no problems with just applying a few coats of acrylic paint for my projects!

How many grams of clay did you use in one trinket dish?
@xiqikxx896710 ай бұрын
Any suggestions on how to keep the clay from sticking to the bottom?…I’ve tried wax paper and putting flour to the bottom but nothing seems to work….ended up breaking my creation because it was completely stuck to the surface
@sweetlifediy10 ай бұрын
Conditioning your clay before you use it will remove excess moisture! I’ve tried parchment paper and it worked but I think clay artists use plywood for their surfaces! My clay usually doesn’t get too sticky so I just use my craft mat. If it does get stuck I have a very thin and long blade I can scrape to get my creation out

Very nice video. May I know what clear paint you used last, what it is toxic to, and where to find it?
@sweetlifediy7 ай бұрын
I used varnish from decoart to glaze the pieces after painting! It's available at art & crafts stores (I got mine from Michaels). I don't know if they are non-toxic but they are definitely less toxic than uv resin. It's best to be cautious and work in a well-ventilated area when using.

I need to make this to sell them for a project, how long do you think it would take to make 30? If i sculpted them, then painted once dried etc
@sweetlifediy10 ай бұрын
If you are making trays for the first time I suggest you make only one first then check the quality before making more! You should also score & slip to attach pieces together. I was making these for the first time as a diy project and wasn’t making these to sell. The time needed will vary for everyone depending on their skill levels!

Hi and omg those are adorable.. love them so much 🩷 how would you sand without sanding paper?
@sweetlifediy5 ай бұрын
Hi, thank you! ❤️ Sanding paper will probably be the easiest and cheapest option but maybe if you have a nail drill/rotary tool it can also work! You can also skip the sanding process if you smooth out the clay really well with water before you leave it to dry!

Maybe a nail file will work

Could you give some tips to be able to control your air dry clay like that? I always struggle with getting the shape and the amount of water I use-
@sweetlifediy4 ай бұрын
Hi, having some clay tools (rolling pin, sculpting tools, clay blades) can help a lot with your creations! After using air dry clay for a while, I found that conditioning your clay (kneading for a few minutes) before you use it can help reduce cracks when it dries! Sometimes the clay feels too dry and you will need to add some water to condition it. When attaching 2 clay pieces together, the best practice is to score both pieces and apply some slip to attach them together to reduce cracks. It was my first time making clay trays so I didn't know about score & slip at the time of this video. Clay trays dry pretty slowly so you can take your time shaping them and apply a little water if the surface starts to dry!

Hi, I had limited materials back then so I was using sculpey gloss glaze meant for polymer clay! I use mont marte clay varnish and decoart varnish nowadays for my air dry clay pieces.

Hi, thank you! ❤️ After your air dry clay piece is fully dry, you can paint over them! You might need to apply more layers of paint than you would with white air dry clay

Hey can anyone tell what is sandingg? And what kind of paints do we use , acrylics??
@sweetlifediy4 ай бұрын
Sanding is a process used to smooth the clay pieces after it’s fully dried! I use sandpaper for sanding as seen in the video~ The most popular paint choice for air dry clay pieces is acrylic paint but others may work too!
