Here’s my take the story is sadder in the real game but scarier in the demo. The demo just makes her seem like an emotionless demon but in the real game you can see how depressed and trapped this innocent little kid is and it’s like “Wow this story is so captivating and sad.”

I think the demo is not canon anymore. I mean, there are too many differences between the demo and what we see in the official version of the game. Amanda in the demo seems to be an absolute demonic sadistic evil, who even enjoying being in a butcher shop. This is the opposite of Amanda from the official game, where Amanda absolutely DOES NOT WANT to be in the butcher shop and she gets hysterical when something inside the show forces her to come there. She hates and fears this place. It looks like when the game started to get overgrown with a lot of lore and details, the plot went far from the demo, the characters too. Amanda's behavior in the demo and in the official game is like they are two different characters.

Amanda's personality is becoming more "childish" as the games go on. (I don't know as much about that for the sequel because I want to play it myself whenever possible.)
