I really like the work you did on the Play button, but the thumbs-up-saw is inspired. What a brilliant idea, and how nice of you to make it for one of us! I don't believe I could ever offer a comment worthy of such an award, so I'll just mention my favourite pigeon fact: the reason there's so many different colourations of pigeons in towns and cities is because they used to be prized as pets and kept for food by the poor. Humans complain about pigeons moving into cities and "taking over" from the native birds, but the humble pigeon is only there because we put them there!

I'm just going to tell a strange dream I had several years ago: We were driving in a car, I was sitting in the back seat. We got stuck in traffic and I looked outside, there I saw pigeons enjoying a feast (lots of garbage along the road). I was looking at them, admiring them and suddenly... I was a pigeon too and was eating with them! I can't recall how long ago I dreamt it, but it is surely more than 5 years ago, maybe 10?? Thank you for all the amazing projects so far, I hope there are a lot more to come! Greetings from Belgium, Jan

I live near a small town based in the south of germany. It has a beautiful clocktower in the middle of it and that one has small little stores in a building built around it. In this town, near that clock tower, I come every day after school for a little bit and feed and draw the many pigeons that are sometimes landing here. They are wonderful little creatures and I adore that color play on their feathers. Those grey creatures that, when light hits them at the right angle, have those beautiful green and magenta colors. Pigeons are just beautiful animals...

Hi my name is Cole, so I have a good pigeon story. About a few months ago I found a little baby bird on the sidewalk when walking home from school and I looked around and didn’t see a nest or any other birds like the parents. So at first I didn’t know what to do and so I got my father to help me help the baby bird. So we got gloves and picked up the baby bird and brought it home and put it in a shoe box with cotton and a cloth. We feed the baby bird some worms and grubs till it grew up and at that time we figured out it was a pigeon. And the bird we named love because we had such a connection to it. It once came time to let it go so we went outside on a nice warm day and released the pigeon. It was sad but it was incredible what happened next. Love stuck around our house for the next few weeks and we would put out snacks for him to munch on. But as it got colder we saw Love less and less till he didn’t come back due to the cold weather. But it was a incredible time in my life and brought me closer to nature and me and my dad will never forget finding that little pigeon. So that is my story about me finding a little pigeon. I also love making things that’s why I subscribed to your channel. I restore old tools and build many things for my family for them to enjoy. I love your channel I hope you keep growing and thanks for the great content. - Cole

Pigoen nests are simple platforms of a few sticks and dung. The pre flegling birds are deliberately pushed out of the nest and onto the ground where it's parents feed it until it fledges. If you find a "baby" wild pigeon or dove on the ground, LEAVE IT ALONE!
@DavidLindes4 жыл бұрын
@@robertlewis4666: while I agree in principle, I also figure it depends a bit on where you find it... a high-traffic sidewalk (I don't know if Cole's was high-traffic, but some are) seems dangerous for a baby bird, and it could easily be the case that absent an action like this, the bird would just get stepped on or whatever by a future passer-by... so... maybe express why it's good to leave it alone (as you did) without the reprimand for a well-meaning act of (intended, at least) kindness?

Last November I decided to build my own muzzleloading flintlock rifle from a kit. I'd never built anything of such complexity or scope before, and spent the month learning (painfully, painstakingly, and expensively) about carpentry, metalworking, machining, and yes, engraving. During that month there were two rock doves that apparently took to nesting in the gravel near my driveway. About the time I was done with the project, I noticed the doves had left. I hope those little guys did okay.

I personally think it would be really amazing if you could create some sort of a Victorian style mechanical pigeon that functions kind of like those little birds inside of the antique 18th century bird music boxes. It would especially look rather beautiful with all the scrollwork and engraving with the filigree designs that you perform. The art that you engrave is truly a wonderful masterpiece in my eyes and I actually want to learn how to draw and engrave designs like that. Plus I watch all of your videos and it just amazes me on how beautiful your creations are and all the thought and work you put it on every detail rather it be big or small and how you take your time. Loved your work (as usual!) on the Play button Uri! Here's my pigeon story. My husband, one of our sons and I were at a park nearby. Our son was in his early teens. Anyhow, we were feeding the birds that reside there and my son decides to start teasing this pigeon by holding out a piece of bread then pulling it away when the bird flew to get it. Finally, the bird gets fed up and smacks my son in the face with one of his wings! It was priceless! Wish we had pictures of it! :)
