For getting the line through the pipes, an easy way to do it would be to tie a weight to the end of the line you're feeding through it. Just use a small bolt for some weight and tie it on, letting it getting it through

I'm doing a siren cosplay, and I am so torn between doing an articulated wing with a harness or having my arms encapsulated in the wings. Either way I'm in for a lot of feather cutting/shaping/gluing. I'd love to hear you speak on the pros and cons of using the eva foam like you used here, vs the more flowy seeming isolon and packing foam combo used in the lute cosplay. My primary concern is that the packing foam wouldn't hold its shape enough, but I definitely need a super light material. My current though was to double up the thin packing foam with a eva foam, wooden skewer, or wire rachis/calamis for some internal structure, possibly with a thinner feather shape inside to give some of the feathers even more structure. I love how you did the feet, and may have to reconsider my plans to make them from a pair of heeless shoes.

So much respect! I am not a cosplayer, rather a graphic and fine artist, and the way you approach this art seems like pure magic to me. It's incredible to see. Your artworks are always so convincing, dramatic, and memorable. I can imagine drawing things like this, but to make something you can inhabit convincingly that doesn't also look like arts and crafts is mindblowing to me. All of your characters look real, and the mean ones look devastatingly frightening. I hope the long journey it must have taken to reach these levels of mastery does not steal from you an appreciation for how beautiful and impressive your art is. This was an amazing video.

Watching the way you fished that line through the PVC on the wings, reminded me of a trick I learned for running wiring through handlebars on choppers. Next time try using a Shop-Vac to vacuum the line through the pipe. I used to do it with dental floss and then I would tie that to the wires and pull them through the bars. I think you can get where I'm coming from on this idea. Anyhow, hopefully this tip will come in handy next time.

For guiding the fishing line through the pvc pipe, maybe attach the end of the line to a metal nut and then guide it with a magnet? But other than that, HOLY CROW THIS IS COOL
@UncleNavi12 күн бұрын
Late to the party, but the next time you need to feed something through PVC pipe you can either go to the hardware store and look for something called "fish tape" in the electrical section, cut a wire hanger with good cutters and bend it straight, or if you have a particularly good vacuum cleaner you can tie the string around a paper ball about the same size as the pipe and suck it through from the other side. Works best with a shop-vac. If you really like the coat hanger trick you can also leave a hook on two and try to catch a second one for particularly long pulls.
