@@derenjoy3rit absolutely is not. cataracts have been anecdotally reported in the “therapeutic” dose range of 100-250mg. but even still, you are constantly sweaty and burning and nothing can stop it. you also have extreme cravings as your body is trying to get energy it’s failing to make. it might burn 500cals/day but it wont be too effective because most people will give into those cravings. oh, and if you do, youll feel even hotter as those carbs literally burn. on top of it all, 1000mg can literally kill you with no ability to stop the poisoning. GLP-1’s are far better. why go through literal hell and even risk dying your eyes and bodily fluids yellow when you could just eliminate hunger from ever happening?

No, I didn't die or go to the hospital, I did everything right and it worked as it's supposed to but MAN the yellow sweat and hot flashes after eating were not pleasant. That yellow sweat will turn your clothes, bed, couch, towels, etc a nice piss yellow. Men, your...ahem...fluids...also turn a nice weak yellow, as well. It'll turn just about everything a human expels, yellow. Ever seen ULTRA yellow piss? It's pretty trippy.

It's very strange and interesting that Pyrotechnical uploaded his video on the same subject around six hours before you. Anyways, nitrates shouldn't be consumed by humans at all. If I have to explain the why's, it's enough to think about the destruction nitric acid can do to the skin or any organic materials. Also (mono) nitroglycerine has serious effects in the human body, so nitrates should be avoided if possible.

The whole discipline of pharmacology is about giving toxic, lethal or radioactive substances to humans, just in small doses. The same goes for anesthesia, certain cosmetic procedures (botox), etc. Your argument should go beyond "it does damage". The dose matters, as do other factors.

This route starting from the halobenzene is much cleaner and higher yielding than attempting nitration of phenol directly (the route pyrotechnical chose.) I've only ever seen this done with the chlorobenzene reagent; no idea what your side products were with the bromobenzene starting point. It would be useful to get a melting point on a small quantity and some other form of characterization.

The body has evolved to be pretty good at adaptation, conserving energy and using every trick in the book to overcome periods of scarcity and hunger. Can you burn a pound of fat through exercise? Can you do it every day for a period of two, three weeks? Can you maintain your job and a life with that amount of exercise? Probably no on all counts. DNP can do that, though.

Love this video dude 👌 as usual, an amazing job. Fun fact: I once tried to synthesize picric acid from aspirin and nitration mixture, and it went... Somehow wrong :v everything seemed to work, but when I purified my product and tested it's flammability, it didn't went off at all. I guess what I obtained from the synthesis wasn't picric acid, but a mixture of 2,4-DNP and DNS (dinitrosalycilic acid)... Maybe that explains why my body temperature increased (yeah, I became hotter lmao)

Yeah, you need the 2, 4, 6-trinitrophenol.

Excellent job and finally a clean route! Everything that starts from a phenol is a programmed runaway reaction, so way better to do it like this. The stuff isn’t that explosive unless you use a primary charge, no worries. Would be interesting to partially reduce it to amino-nitrophenol which is a very useful precursor for dyes!
