Hi Brad I just moved to Florida and been collecting these pieces painted a few. Love your work do you think you could list some of your supplies, like how to preserve, spray shellac, acrylics etc...

Hi Kate. Welcome…I have found that the best way to preserve is from the beginning. If you are talking about palm, you need to really focus on sanding all of the coating that happens naturally. Once you have removed that then comes the primer. I usually use Kilz. Then whatever paint you prefer, whether it is acrylic, oil, enamel, etc. You can use sealants but it depends on the piece you are creating. Do you want it to have a gloss look or more natural?…if you have more question please feel free to ask

That is a wax coated wire string. Once heated it bonds together. Thanks for your comment

Awesome, and awesome giraffe, so creative the way the head sits on the base and looks like it has a a bit of a swivel.... too bad you left that part out (showing how you attached it) So I was wondering if you can steer me in the right direction for the wax wire, a google search just confused me more. Where do you get it if you do not mind me asking. And what is the tensile strength? or maybe there are choices... Thanks for you reply and help.

I work for Costco Wholesale part time and that is what is used to hang signs over large spans. I recycle what is being thrown away. They buy it in spools and is quite expensive. I will check exactly where they order it from and it’s weight capacity and let you know.
