We're in agreement. I don't like raisins. I never told my 3 daughters that I didnt like raisins. I would put the small boxes of raisins in their lunches. They would bring the raisins home. I quickly learned that they too didnt like raisins.

Great video! I really enjoyed it! Just one tiny note: raisins will add excellent body to your mead but the amount you added is in no way sufficient to provide enough nutrients to your mead to keep the yeast happy. It’s more or less equivalent to giving 1/4 a kiddie’s Flintstone vitamin tablet to an adult for a whole month and expecting that adult to have enough vitamins to stay healthy on a diet that solely consists of crackers or French fries. The adult won’t starve, but by the end of that month, (s)he’ll probably have issues. If you want to provide nutrients and don’t want to basically make raisin mead or don’t want to buy something like Fermaid O, you can boil up some baker’s yeast and add that to your fermenter. The boiling kills the baker’s yeast. Yeast feeds on it’s own. They’re cannibals. Feeding them dead yeast isn’t as good as commercially available yeast nutrient, but it’ll get you a whole lot further than just the raisins. I’d still recommend adding the raisins though, because they provide great body to a mead. Thanks for the video!

You can use fruits in mead aswell, you don't have to use raisins only. I have heard that drinking mead can give you a headache you won't forget as a hangover, but I don't know that personally. Did you know that the word Skål, pronounced Skole, means a bowl, the drinking bowl that was used to take oaths with or affirm the loyalty between the chieftain and his men. The chieftain filled the bowl up so it would last from the chieftain drinking to the last man in the circle drinking, and the chieftain taking the last drink, and it had to be empty after his last sip. A bit of drinking magic confirming that all men were indeed loyal to the chieftain. If the bowl emptied too soon or had too much left in the end the chieftain could be replaced, since he couldn't measure correctly how much his men would drink. Tough times, the Viking era!!! 😂😂😂😂😂❤❤❤❤❤❤
