Producers stealing other peoples ideas and claiming it as there own is another problem. Big name producers sometimes get credit for popularizing something that originated from somebody unknown and nobody gives credit to the originator...

This has always been the case for modern metal. Some random dudes innovate,then the already famous dudes steal and profit.

I think one problem that isn't mentioned at all and I see it everyday is music producers stealing photos from instagram/pinterest for their "type beat" thumbnails for youtube without giving any credit to original creators

Agree 100% been thinking about how we are basically stealing / using without permission then would not be happy if rappers did the same to us
@joeygproducedit78638 сағат бұрын
Sort of. According to metas polocies once you post on there site its free game. We might steal em but big corporations make real money selling your info. Ive heard rappers say all type beats do is drive more attention to there music soo they dont care 😅

Have to learn from others in the beginning once you know enough for a solid foundation. It is time to experiment if you go too far off course just use the foundation to bring you back. Granted it is easy for me to say I don't make a living from it. I imagine it is more frightening for somebody that is living solely on music to risk experimenting.

The state of the producer community is simple... everyone is making the same trap type beat and drill type beat. Everyone is using the same VSTs and drumkits etc... music has never before been this unoriginal in the history of modern music. The reason like you stated in the video, the greats are considered great is because they went against the norm and developed their own unique sound a perfect example of this would be Timbaland and all of his stuff still holds up today. We need more people to be brave and original instead of living in fear and afraid of what others might say 💯

I make alternative hiphop, often with a dark hard sound and with even gothic, I try to make something new Recently thought I'd take a break from the storytelling I do on my songs and go for the old legend of Dracula for a song, once. A friend to me who has gone multi platinum told me that there's potential on songs and beats that I've made, really cool guy btw

I've been making beats ever since getting out of the psyh ward. I have Fl Studio on my phone and I enjoy making beats. I've been making beats for a while now. I'm looking at failure as one more step towards success. I'm also into skateboarding which has taught me how to handle my mental illness. I love making music, skating, and designing fantasy interfaces and layouts. I skate to stay in shape. Music is fun. I learn something new every time I make a song. I used to use LMMS which taught me the basics. My favorite kind of music is Trance. I've been using Fl on my pc and love making Drill and Trap. I made a Drill drum kit. I used the stock plug ins to do so. I live in southern Texas and I've made a couple of counter snares which don't sound like any other counter snares. I don't have the money to afford paid plug ins. There's some great free plug ins like Vital which is a awesome free alternative to Surem. I'm starting to learn coding so I can design and code a plug in. I'm not afraid to try new sounds who knows maybe they'll strike the right chord and may come to be popular? It's possible. Making music is so fun. I'm open to feedback so I can improve. I came up with Adrenaline because it's who I am. I love doing things that cause my adrenaline to get pumping. Next month I'm gonna be uploading my music. I have a pc, a AT2020 mic, ATHM40x headphones, Akai Fire, and a FL Keys Novation keyboard and Fl Studio Producer edition which is all I need. As soon as I have more money I'll buy more gear and eventually buy an audio interface. @TRIFREEZE there's a plugin called Back Mask and it's fire.

Honestly, a big issue is all these loops that people be using nowadays. There’s nothing wrong with that, IF you are ok with the fact that you’re contributing to the lack of originality that all these beats have. All of em sounds the same cuz they use the same loops and just slap on some basic (and also hard, don’t get me wrong) drums and call it a day. Start making yo own melodies and it will sound like your music.
@TRIFREEZE7 сағат бұрын
I agree. I make these phrases ONLY because they sell, because I’ve got to pay bills somehow. I’m currently working on my own VST instead though to push unique things ✅

FINALLY some is talking about this. TOTALLY 100% agree with you bro, we can blame splice, plenty of recycled drum kits, producer laziness using pre-assembled midi or midi generator BUT at the end of the day, it's all about being brave, stop thinking about type beat and do something different as producers. THAT'S IT People in early 90's had just roland808, mpc 60 or 950, some keyboard synth (if u were lucky and with budget) and tons of creativity to dig samples from 50's to 80's soul/funk records. Today we just need a DAW, some drumkit, splice or similar and we only must force ourselves to think out of the box using millions of tons of sampling technique, plugin emulations or possibilities we can have more than producer in the 90's WE LIVING IN THE BEST ERA OF MUSIC BUT WE MUST THINK BIG
@prodbyFxnktion1eight13 сағат бұрын
well yes, a thousand percent True! you have put it perfectly however every producer wants to make Beats like they Favorite Producers and artists, you always start off experimenting (from myside) but everything changes when you realize you can exploit some beat Types to make a few coins and when nothing happens you kinda just let it all go and start off in the Experimental direction again and hope for the best
@matenorthСағат бұрын
I remember 20 years ago, 808 was the default drun kit in all DAW's and it was there just to get you started and eventually replace them with something different once the composition was complete. I never understood how these drum sounds became the norm in the last years. Back then it was not acceptable to use those crappy sounds.

when i started i was the biggest hater ill admit, compared myself, talked down and acted like "i only make beats for fun"...ALL CAP. haha. im going on 5 years cooking and right now still learning how to mix! Im not sure if anything is "dying" but one thing that will break you through is DRIVE. If you got drive, ambition and stay cooking, collabing and supporting, You will get picked as opposed to the guy who uploads once a month, or "claims" its just a hobby. Passion and Drive will show others you will SHOW UP, ready to cook and collab/learn. So we can all make the same type beats, but just like MAc shooter, your personality, sauce, and humbleness will take you farther. I cannot wait until my mixes are in pocket, cause it wont feel like a chore anymore, the creativity will flow and they wont have an option but to ride this 🏄😎

I really think it Takes time before you get out the Nest and make unique stuff out of your own mind First you have to Build X anount of of Ikea furniture before you really understand Whats the Point and then make your own stuff. Gonna remind myself aswell to come back down to my own music instead of literally chasing „Meta“ I think a Mix of Both worlds is what will define New Sound and the Evolution of the Culture. Peace

LOOPS killed the game. Everything boils down to capitalism. Speed, efficiency and sales. As long as the demand is there, sales will be made. Rappers do the same; stuck in one style and follow trends. Unique production requires partnership with unique rappers. Copy cats are all over the internet who steal sounds and claim it as their own original style while the pioneers are ignored because of smaller platforms. It is what it is.

The only difference is that some treat it like a business and make relevant music, while others do what they want but do not earn anything from it. Everything new is well-forgotten old. You talk about producers who supposedly do what they want, but forget that no one needs a room beatmaker without industry connections. All those producers promoted their vision of music by being already popular, which is why their music became famous, but initially they did the same thing as everyone else. Be realistic. First, you earn a name for yourself and use this tool to promote the music that you want to convey, but initially absolutely everyone does the same thing, these are basic things, including you started your channel with basic things and did not initially carry any of your unique sound. You can't invent a bicycle a second time, you can only refine it, but it won't be a discovery anymore. It's strange to say that something is dying in beatmaking, it's not like that at all. In this case, you can talk about anything in this way, but this is a destructive attitude to your business. I'm sure everyone has projects with non-standard sound, maybe even very cool and breakthrough, but who needs it at the moment? Now what is popular is popular, these are the realities. You're either doing business, or you're sitting with your unwanted sound (but it's your unique one). Work on your brand, earn a name, and then present your unique sound, then it will work. Exactly the same as the author of the channel has done now. He has a name, he has an audience, he can send his unique sound to the masses and they will hear it, because there is trust and respect from the public as a master of his craft. Again, be realistic))

Outstandingly good take! Changed a few of my own viewpoints
@wayneinc.42146 сағат бұрын
No negativity to you bro, the main idea was that first you need to make a name and earn a reputation, without this, even the newest sound you make, it will not be needed to anyone. In no way I don't belittle your goals.
