Protect and guide your small band of settlers to forge a town from untamed wilderness at the edge of the known world. Harvest raw materials, hunt, fish and farm to sustain your advancing town. Produce crafted items for villagers to trade, consume, equip and fight with as you battle for your survival against the elements and outside threats (pacifist mode available for players who do not want to engage in combat).

You can do sustained wood farming using a workcamp with 2 workers. Set the workcamp to harvest mature trees only and new trees will mature as fast as they harvest them. Apiaries are best located near crops or grassland where you get wildflowers.

merchants always come early spring, it's ideal to deliver to the market during winter when other activities like building and farming) slow down (I actually used to remove the farmers and foragers from the job over winter to get more workers).

Here's a pro tip: if you have a bear running through the village at least keep an eye on it. With that said, in my village when I was a kid, a local came home one day and found a bear in his living room. He grabbed a knife and started running after the bear. His neighbour was telling this story as he was checking through the window where the yelling was coming from. It was his neighbour running after a bear with a knife in his hand. The bear was scared to death. There's realism for you.
