Peter, show us everything. Don't worry about getting bored. everything you do is very interesting, it doesn't matter if it's 10 minutes of pure knowledge transfer or 60 minutes of cutting or wiring trees. you learn something new in all matters. keep it up, i love your videos.

Thank you master I see every time that you have a lot of trees in thet same atage I have onder why the first cut is made so high Would be nice to see what kind of design has worked after this stage. As we see that straight trunks are normally cut shorter to make movements Greetings from Chile. Now we are in fall 🍁🍂

Where can a I get a bonsai soil in the US. Or how can I make my own , does anybody know ?.
@jonawolf8023 Жыл бұрын
Bonsai soil is good in a humid climate or when you want to be very precise about how much water and fertilizer the trees are getting as it consists almost entirely of mineral components. in my dry continental climate i prefer to work with garden soil (holds moisture better) and sometimes mix with sand or expanded clay if the soil is too heavy.
@peterchan3100 Жыл бұрын
You can grow bonsai in any soil provided it drains reasonably well.

@@thegonzalezs4953 if you start planting the trees in A ordinari flowerpot (sligtly biger in size) and us garden kompost the care is much easyer. Great video. So informative! At 29:34 you mentioned that you would not normally use dissectums for bonsai. Any reason for this or is it personal preference?
@peterchan3100 Жыл бұрын
The drooping habit of the young branches hides the trunk making it difficult to show the trunk when grown as a bonsai.

@@briangallagher3106 some of the green or yellow maples seem to do better in the sun.

The amount of sunnlight marples can tolerate is depending on the size and color of the leafs. Smalle dark green leafs do well in sunn red leafs and biger leafs need mor shelter.

@@briangallagher3106 that would mount the rule. Orange Dream has small, light leaves (little surface area and little chlorophyll) Blood Good has large leaves and lots of chlorophyll, so it needs much less light for photosynthesis.
