I particularly love this version of cake pop vs the icing mixed with cake pop. The latter are too sweet in my opinion and these are just too easy and fun! Thank you for the informative video...you saved me lot's of trial and error on how much to fill each little container.

they were not coming out round for me either at first... I found out by watching more videos and just trying it out that the thicker the batter is the more round they come out. the recipie in the book is a lot thicker but another thing you can do is add less water to your box mix. hope this helps! :) -101lulurocks

Thank you for this video! All my sources said to fill the wells partially so mine have been coming out looking like planets with orbiting rings. Don't forget, everyone, that we can freeze cake batter. So if you make a boxed batter, you can make as few cake pops as you want and freeze the batter--just label the bag w/the flavor and date. Happy Popping :)

I've got this and love it! I like that it makes another type of cake pop because I don't really like the blobs of cake and icing. Instead, I just poke a hole in these before I decorate, and fill them with icing/chocolate. I took a bunch to school (minus the sticks) and they were a big hit!
@Cookiescupcakesandcardio11 жыл бұрын
When melting chocolate, do it in small amounts of time, until you know how to do it....ie start out with 30 second intervals in the microwave. How much you need depends on the size of the bars etc. Good luck!

Watch the video for the part that you do to stop the pop from falling off the stick..it's really helpful. Cake pops usually have icing mixed in, which makes them heavier than a straight cake batter one. Cakes made from box mixes tend to be lighter than scratch ones, which may make a difference.

Hi there...I find that using the Babycakes maker saves time, since you're not having to bake the cake, crumble and add icing. Since there isn't any icing mixed in, the pop is a little lighter than a traditionally made one....but I'm all for saving time!

When they are baked through to the centre. If you put a toothpick into one of them and it comes out clean, then they're done. If it comes out with batter on it still, then they're not finished.

Thanks for the quik tut. I have the same cake pop maker, and was disappointed that the cake pops didn't come out in a nice round ball. Now I know I have to fill up to the top with batter. Someone here said you don't need the non-stick spray. But you really do if you want your pops to come out nice and clean. I just swab the the inside with a pastry brush and my homemade cake release. Also, someone mentioned the pops aren't as good as the scratch made. I use either my pound cake recipe, or a brownie cake recipe/mix. Both are dense, so it makes for a rich, fudgy cake pop. Only thing I don't like, is the machine does get very hot...definitely not kid friendly. I have a granite countertop, but if I didn't, I would have the machine on a solid glass/marble cutting board so my counter wouldn't burn. You also must use oven mitts to open the machine, and the gloves are bulky..so kinda tricky opening the lid. But all in all...for the price I paid..$20...I'm happy with it. Sure beats using cake scraps. Done that, and it's way too messy...

You can't get the chocolate to stick to the stick or to the cake pop? Did you let them cool? Freeze them? Working with chocolate can be tricky. I have found the most success with chocolate melting wafers or candy melts....both are not 100% chocolate but whatever is added into them makes them much easier to work with.
