Love the video. Just a suggestion. You could have a waterproof cover for the open side so if the wind is blowing the wrong way you could roll the cover down to keep the wood from getting wet/. Then roll it back up when the sun comes out again & when the snow melts. Joe is too cute , I just love his smile. Have a good week guys. Take care.

Thank you... another nice video with what seems like a very nice family. 🙂 Dumpster Diving, as it is sometimes called, makes so much sense, both in terms of saving money and recycling stuff that shouldn't go to a landfill. Watching you both haul away your "prize" reminded me of decades ago when my wife and I scavenged a backyard swing set for our boys who were of the age to use it. We had to push it on the road several blocks away and we couldn't dismantle it because it had been painted so I borrowed our sons' plastic roller-blades, put one under each of the four legs of the metal structure and we pushed it all the way to our house. Must have been quite a sight for the neighbours. Forgive an old man for reminiscing...

Thank you thank you …. Probably one of the best episodes ever and heavenly music too … a bit of DIY a bit of cooking and a great outdoor part … loved it … that old piece of wood should have been kept I think to hang on the outside of the boat with the boat name on in brass maybe … loved the episode and Joe is growing up fast and furious 👍😀👍

That crate will be a prefect log store, good find! If I were you I'd tip it on its long edge maybe on top of a pallet and give it a roof. But as someone else commented keep the sides open for ventilation. That way you can stack the logs up vertically and it'll be easier and neater than chucking them all in the crate. Hopefully that makes sense, I can visualise it so well! Good luck!

You both so remind me of my husband and I when we were your ages. We thrifted our way through life but managed to create several lovely homes over the years. I once found a complete set of bunk beds on top of a skip and dragged it all of the way home for firewood. Anything we found we recycled etc. In fact, we're now nearly 60 and still live that way. It has served us well.

Amazing! It is incredible what people throw away... There's so much that just needs some simple refinishing and its as good as new. I am a fiend for hoarding various bits and pieces though, if we see something that I think might be useful, I can't help but keep it for a rainy day!

Hi guys, just a tip for when you make your wood store....dont box in all the sides completely as wood needs ventilation to dry out.

Hi just found you channel and subscribed 😀 i see you have an Essie Ironheart how do you find it? I will trawl through you back catalogue to see if you have already covered it. Loved your autumnal episode. I think the shelf top should be the scafold board its a flatter surface fir putting things on and the back board the lovely old piece of wood an you will get to see it more.

It's a great stove! Although a little oversized for our space. We struggle with getting the oven up to temp as usually by the time it's warm, we've basically cooked ourselves. The hobs though are fantastic and come the middle of this month it will be running 24/7. I think the bakeheart would have been a better size for us, but we picked this one up second hand for a good price. Easy to refurb and will last forever!

"... like Dylan the dog from Magic Roundabout." ??? As another poster has commented, Dylan was a rabbit - and, indeed, a bit of a stoner. Dougal was the dog. You can't start confusing Joe about Magic Roundabout at this early age ...
