I have never before seen teflon tape used in the joints. Does that work well?

Its quite standard practice in amateur labs. Works great for preventing a stuck joint, however it doesnt nearly seal well enough for vacuum. Benefit is no greasy residue, but the commercial teflon sleeves are still much better

where do you get your glassware from?

I get mine from eBay. So far no problems. The money back warranty works great, but regarding to the glassware I haven't had to use it.

Why HCl and bleach and not TCCA?

I actually added TCCA later, just had to get rid of this bleach some day...

@@chemical-engineering-yt btw hypochlorite + TCCA explodes from NCl3, so will adding a base of any kind to TCCA

You're right, forgot to mention that of course you have to switch the entire flask, not just combine it
