Making colloidal silver time lapse

This is a time lapse of colloidal silver electrolysis in action. It is a time lapse of about 30 min. The voltage used is 27.5 Vdc. I used 2 Canadian Maple Leaf 1 ounce coins because they are 99.99% pure silver. It is interesting seeing the process in time lapse. The colloidal silver comes off looking like a pale yellow smoke. The silver solution will turn darker over time even if you stop when it is just turning the water light yellow. The next few days it will darken to a darker brown. It depend on how long you leave the process running.

Is that another silver coin on the right as I’m looking at video

Yes. But you could cut in half

What is the maximum achievable PPM through this process, or how do i increase the ppm ?

I do not know the ppm concentration it is difficult to measure without more expensive testing equipment. To increase the concentration you just have to leave it in longer. Most people I think base it on the color to just get it close. Thanks for the comment 👍

@@edwardjackson9791 so I just went through some other sources, basically the silver does not dissolve completely hence TDS meter will not show accurate reading but still should be enough for my use. Thanks so much

I have heard it's best to use distilled water. I am thinking about treating my pool water so I might need to make batches in distilled water, then add it to the pool. Is 27.5 v best for the coins? Is 12v DC too weak and too slow? I will try running it in pool water and compare the results.

Yes distilled water is what I use BUT I used for medicinal also. If just using for a pool I don’t know if that would be needed. I am sure the voltage will affect the time it takes. Not sure if the particle size would be affected. I am not familiar with using it for pool water. Thanks for commenting.

distilled water isn't just best, it's necessary. If you have minerals in your water, the silver will react with it.

@@WillBilly425 that is what I thought would happen. Thanks for the feedback👍

Wow, that's a lot of wisping going on making silver oxide. What volts and current are you using?

Voltage is 27.5 Vdc. Current will be based on water purity.
