Testing the theory that you can develop photographic film in anything, it turns out...you can! Kinda.
We soaked a roll of 35mm Ilford HP5 in pigs blood for 10 minutes and got these results!
But how? In this video, I give an in-depth breakdown of the darkroom development process and the science behind it. You can do this at home, and its basically free (depending on where you source the ingredients ;)
Huge thanks to Darren & Dimitri for making this video possible!

"The pigs' blood was a necessary component." Film photography video or occult tome?

What a wild concept. I'm not gonna sit here and say "I'll try that.", because nah, I'm good with my Rodinal, but it is fascinating to know. Pretty wild. You're an edgelord, Yvonne? I'll give you massive credit for this, and many other far out ideas, but I don't know if I'd call you an edgelord. Then again, I find the term rather derogatory, and I get it a lot. I guess it comes down to perspective. To me, you're an adventurer, and a developing mastermind. That's much better IMO. It is quite fascinating about how film can be developing in damn near anything. You recently did you short/reel/etc. video about how film isn't vegan friendly (which I commented on, and got a couple pissed off Vegans testifying in their collective defense, which was fun.) and then you go and develop film in pigs blood. Shit figures, lol. Maybe you are an edgelord, and I just don't know the meaning anymore, lol. Actually my favorite part of this was you devving film for the first time (Jesus what a strange way to learn, lol), but my reason is that I recently taught a femme photog friend how to develop Tri-X in Rodinal this past weekend. It was quite a few firsts, actually. My first shoot as a model (lol), my first time working with Tri-X (surprisingly enough, but I am more of an HP5 guy), and the first time I got to handle a Pentax K1000 (and determined that my Konica A-1000 is, in fact, basically a super high quality ripoff of that famous camera). Basically, she brought her K1000, did a shoot of me that I lit for her, and then I showed her how to develop the film. So it was fun to watch you devving for the first time because I literally just taught someone much like these dudes taught you, though with regular old photo chems and not (freakin') pigs blood, lol. Always great stuff, Yvonne. Keep adventuring! Cheers!

Hello! I wanna try this recipe! Could you please let me know if you agitated the blood and what temperature the blood was (what a question)? Or did you just let it soak for 10 mins without agitation?
@YvonneHansonPhotography
@YvonneHansonPhotography 2 ай бұрын
The blood was slightly cold since it was partially frozen! Agitation was done pretty much constantly throughout the 10 minutes it developed.

@@YvonneHansonPhotography Thanks! Do you think cold blood vs room temp blood would make a difference? Or did it sort of get more clotted as it warmed up?
