​@@slavasss2189 due to the measurements, the instep consists of muscles bones and tendons so muscles (and also fat) usually make this measurement bigger, I said it always is bigger when it's the dominant foot though which isn't true as there is a small percentage of people with perfectly balanced feet :) also injuries will effect this measurement

Nice video as always. Aside from the project itself, the foot scan is just super interesting! I’ve been on the Plantar plate before (back in 2013) but the modelling scan is awesome. Hoping to be selected if there’s a round two. They definitely went for people with active channels/a decent following for the first round, which is understandable.

Got to get the hype going I suppose! Do you know any other YT creators that have done it? Would love to get pointed in the right direction if so. Plantar plate was so interesting, it’s a live feed so every weight shift you make is immediately reflected on the screen - great for posture feedback!

Honestly, I can’t wait to get them through! I believe you get 3 pairs out of the £260 pioneer program cost (~£86 each), one will be the same as the orange one shown in the video, not a clue about the other two! They’ll definitely be a follow up video once they’re complete.

Im certainly interested in getting my feet scanned for some of these 3d printed vivos. I didnt even think about that fact that my feet are probably not exactly the same shape and having barefoot shoes accommodating for that would be next level

Vivo. Customer service. My 6ish month old Primus Lite All Weather had come unglued where sole meets the upper. Replaced without hassle or quibble... and they gave me a flipping voucher too... so now I own 6 pairs of Vivos. This is both a very good and very bad thing 😅 I guess I really should chuck out my old Adidas of various types now. As for 3D printed - will definitely go for a pair when it's launched. Just wish they'd redesign the Gobi to make it look less clown shoe

interesting. It would be ideal if you were already acclimatised too zerodrop/barefoot style as your feet will get slightly broader after wearing wide/barefoot/zerodrop for a few months

That’s a great point. In the video my feet came out as a perfect euro 46 BUT what wasn’t mentioned was when I first had this scan done (about 3 years ago and about 2 years into wearing vivo) they were a perfect 45. Overtime my feet have both increased in girth (from increase in muscle mass) and length as my body adapted to the zero drop nature of BF shoes. In total I suspect they’re up 1.5 sizes in total. But further to your point, in theory it shouldn’t matter as the materials from your shoes can be recycled, and reprinted as your feet continue to grow

Hi It looks amazing. I was looking for 3d shoes for my 13 years old son. He had fiberous dysplasia, he legs and feet have been grown different speed. His right leg is shorter 3/4 inches than left and his left foot has 1 " bigger than the other side. We are update with orthopedic for shoes sole then find his shoes. His shoes size is very rare, we always stuck with 4 extra wide size 10, high back shoes, because shoe sole raid up 3/4..I wonder if my case is fit to order shoes. Thank you.

Ohhh they’re out there but as shorts. Prototype 1 came out too small so I gave them away (video here: kzbin.info8AWFiPJOctI?feature=share ) Prototype 2 got sent to the wrong hemisphere/continent and my dad got hold of them, yet to know what they’re like personally (video here: kzbin.infowZSymJ8jVeA?feature=share ) As soon as I actually GET a pair that FIT, I’ll do a proper video but till they I’ve got to work with what I’ve got 🫠

Actually they launched to the public last week! Starting off with 2000 pairs in the UK. I haven’t made a follow up video as the first pair didn’t fit, and the next pair got sent to the wrong shipping address 😂

I assume they can't do that. If they want to keep using recycled materials, developing the technology and work on their visual appeal of their designs. Once more competition arise it should go down somewhat

Unfortunately @jehush is right, it costs a lot to make the wheels of a project like this spin, especially when no one else is doing it! When the technology becomes more common place and the competition meets them on their level I’d expect the price to start coming down. Until then, their Revivo site is a great place to get started!

I'd argue it is less about Vivo being expensive, and more about mainstream brands being so cheap. I recall as a spotty teen in the late 80s/early 90s that a pair of Jordans cost £90. They don't cost much more than that now. Likewise, Adidas Gazelles have been about £40 for as long as I can remember. There's an interesting video on KZbin somewhere comparing original Stan Smiths to the current ones. The difference in quality is astonishing.

Yes, the 3D thing new but not that new. The whole recycled materials products costing more is total bs. From my understanding, recycled materials are cheaper and easier to work with. Unless of course the company is doing recycling the materials themselves. I get that it is business and it works for them. Can they sell the products at cheaper price? Yes. Will they do it? Investors won’t be too pleased with it including Clarks family. Do you really think it will cost them more than $20 to make a pair?
