I’m recovering from hernia surgery now. Turned out I had three spots not one. I’m just at eight days recovering. You are providing entertainment during my down time.

I live in Brasil retired from Los Angeles and understand the dificulty of aquiring parts like you can in the USA. We have to get creative to find parts everywhere. You are indeed an artist congratulations great fender flare.

Glad to have you back postings. As you were welding the 'extension" I was thinking, "how is it he never burns through like I do all the time?" and just then YOU burned through. Your ARE human! Your explanation on how you will correct the situation is very helpful. I usually just go back and try to fill the hole and continue on welding as I had been when I burned through. Thank you for the explanation of a "SCAN". I have been getting them for quite some time now and never knew it.

😀👍A good little trick when you've burned a hole and you are struggling to close it - back it with a piece of copper or aluminum and then weld it up. It helps to absorb some of the heat, and the welding does not stick to it

I was thinking that I would have started with just a round rod on the outer lip, but now that I see what you were going for, I like the look of the squared off flat fender lip. Yep, you have vision all right. Great to see you back in the shed!

So being lazy this last week..and looks like rain all week again..how you feeling after your situation. Looks like your going to see another strawberry season as my mother used to say. 😆,,all n all can't complain..the situation with ,you know who..hasent changed..but such is life..good to see ya back in the shop my friend..brother from another mother. Hey Div, I love the look of that little Renault sedan. Now with the low stance, the wide tires and the fender work, it has a bit of a rally car flair. Div, do take it easy with your recovery. The SCANS are a must for some of us ! The work will still be there waiting when we get back to it.
