Its Wifey Wednesday and we are working on the Renobug again, a Renault/VW Beetle rat rod/hot rod project for my wife, here at Rat Rods for Africa. In this round we french or tunnel the tail lights and end up building a pair of T-bars as well. Oh, and we do get distracted by some things in between...

That Renault designer flipping over in his grave: "How didn't I think of that?" those are the lights this car was meant to have and the Tbars are perfect. Nailed it!

I still think the Renaultbug is deserving a nice paint job at the end of this build after all the nice metal work. Your really doing a good job with this little car. It's becoming a jem

Looks amazing my friend! My grandpa on my mother's side was a ship cabinet maker in Maryland and he had a set of wooden handled tools that he inherited from his dad ,who was a ship cabinet maker in Scandinavia. Go Vikings! Lol literally

Dear Dif. You asked and here's my answer instantly: Indicator lights are called "Blinker" in Germany. I guess that flasher is the best translation. Best regards, luck and health in particular.

My great grandfather was a cabinet maker. He had a bunch of those Marple drivers and referred to them as turnscrews. I'm lucky enough to still have some of his tools and use them often. The little yellow car is looking wicked.

Awesome Forest Engineering fabrication Duff! And loved the old school screwdriver show and tell! My great grandfather was a shipwright in Boston in the late 1800’s…I have some of his tools…they include a few similar screwdrivers and wood handled chisels and large planes. 😀👍👍

I've been watching this build since the beginning and I had doubts about some elements such as the Volkswagen mechanics or these wing extensions that I didn't find very elegant at first glance, these new rear lights harmonize the whole thing now, at least for the rear, I'm waiting to see the rest 🤔🤩👍

I remember when I got my yanky screwdriver (if only I knew how to spell it) and my first miter box was a Miller Falls. Then they came out with electric ones and at one point I was known as the electric carpenter, so I know where a young man like you is coming from 😂⚡️

I think silver/chrome paint on the T-bars would match well with the door handles, gas cap and the engine hood handle/latch.
