I definitely felt your frustration with that trunk lid. Hinge geometry can be such a nightmare! Nice work getting it all sorted out though...and yes Canadians are all crazy!

I think the hinge problem lies somewhere in the realm of the pivot point being roughly on the same horizontal plane as the attachment point on the deck lid. Playing with a scrap of wood 6``long laid flat on a table and looking down on it, first make it parallel to the edge of the table. Make a mark at each end of the wood on the table. Hold the right end in one spot and rotate the left end up. Note that the left end of the wood is moving closer to your pivot point, relative to the left hand mark. Next, drop the left down of the wood a couple of inches and make another mark. Rotate it again and note that the left end is moving away from your pivot point. It`s a crude demonstration for sure, but it will be obvious in about 3 seconds. Really outstanding work in every clip. I wonder if we will ever get to see any of the cars you finish and send off to be completed. That would be cool.

You need a rosebud for the new torch! Much better for heating and bending

I’ve been watching your videos and I like watching you. You do good work where I’m a old man and I’ve been working on since I was very young and I wish you were around where I live I would try to get you to work on my 33 but I’ve about got the metal work done now but you do great work

Do a little more research and experiments on the hinge points you can make the deck lid move up before it moves back by adjusting the location of the pivot. Some hoods need to move forward before they go up some go up before they move forward

Easiest solution for the steering is using a F1 steering box with a Model A flange welded to it. I believe the Tardel book explains in detail how to do it. Mounts to the original frame holes and give a much quicker steering.

I was wondering if the factory body gaps were alot bigger than how you setup the trunk channel and that's why it was hitting (smaller gaps = no good dead goes unpunished)... Looking forward to hearing that flatty chugging in the RPU.

With the long mustache and running the torch you look a bit like D-Day from Animal House (consider it a compliment!)

Curious what happened to your Model A, 5 window coupe that you put the flathead in?? Sometimes you just need to take a break from this stuff because it sure can get "overwhelmingly frustrating" !!! Was just there working on my project a couple of weeks ago. ;o(

The shape of the hinge doesn’t matter really Make a wood Mach up You need the deck lid to lift straight up for a second longer make flat wood plywood templates to get the timing right

Do you know where to purchase door and trunk seals? Also if I get it I want to convert the trunk lid to a rumble seat. Could do a video talking about how to do that?

You need to take and bend the skin over your inner panel' Then your trunk lid will open and shut like ya want. It's that outer lip on your trunk lid that is keeping the hinge from working properly.
