The 3-window is exciting. It’ll be fun watching the transformation. We’ll be patient as you attend to customer needs; I’ll even follow along with them!

I know you asked some videos ago why you did not get more views. I't looks like you found a way by acquiring a deuce :) . Doesn't matter to me, I have been watching all you're videos with big joy since the get go! easy on the top three list of channels!

If the frame was part of the dirt track race car the lead would have been to add weight to the rear for traction.
@francisrizzo15296 ай бұрын
That b-pillar is some old school hot rodding, just put it together with what you have laying around or can find for free. Very cool detective work figuring out it was a '28-29 a pillar with the windshield pivot. Best part though was "it's a turd, but it's my turd."

They filled it with lead for added weight in the rear so the tires would hook up! Badass! My dad used to stick an engine block in his trunk when drag racing
@ozcrane59846 ай бұрын
Yep ur rite it added weight to make the rear tires bite (and go like heck) gotta keep it clean for da kids. Ha ha!

@@ozcrane5984 you know it had power if they had to resort to a lead filled crossmember too.... bet it was competetive

@@ozcrane5984 I used a 3 foot hunk of train rail on my 34.

Remember this was a drag racer in your future work on this car and like "tradrodsand customs" said, this is what they had to do for this light body for the wheels to hook up. And lead was an easy fix. This is going to be an interesting build for all of us watching. We get to watch you work on an iconic Ford and we don't have to. You on the other hand do LOL But don't fret it, you get better everyday you work in your shop.

Yeah, love the optimism, the hard work, the results. I’m happier that the videos aren’t polished up much. I feel like I’m in there with you. More video finesse and I wouldn’t come back. And, thanks for not including “towel-snapping” and other nonsense. Love it, keep it up. I will be watching!

Probably 20 years ago I looked at a 1932 Ford 3W with heavy chop and channeled to fit a 1932 CHEVROLET frame. The body was out of square and the chop wasn’t level. It would’ve taken another body to undo the channel and redo the chop. I passed on the car and STILL don’t regret it.

Weld is hard to drill and will dull your bits, use a cutting torch next time. Keep plugging away at it, you're getting it.

Filling the rear cross member with lead is an old drag racing trick for better weight transfer. When the frame first tipped up I thought "I bet there's lead in that rear tube". Great project!
@karensavarese56845 ай бұрын
You could level that thing up, and put a string centerline to work from. With the curvy deuce frame, That would be the way to go. Keep at it,,,,Dubs,,,,

Trav put the firewall on first to get your with, then square. Keep cowl rubber on firewall 4 hight, the cowl brackets on bottom stand off frame about 1" high

You need to get ahold of Matt n Mike at IRON TRAP Garage for 32 parts ok n they should have what you need ok
@joebloggs62066 ай бұрын
Maybe they used the chassis for drag racing back in the day and put lead in the tube for weight transfer?🤠
@joewolf44836 ай бұрын
Looks like someone added a little weight bias in the back for traction ... gonna be fun to watch this on progress ... like the wife's new work uniform ... now get busy ...
@johnpeek30606 ай бұрын
i agree it was put there for traction because the gas tank did not add enough weight to keep the tires from spinning. I had a 72 cuda 426 had to add 200 lbs of lead to keep the tires planted on the strip.

The adventure begins...stay all the way folks..many trails and possible errors along the way. This will be a video in work like you have ever seen on KZbin. 😊

Just when I was thinking you needed more weight in the front of your jig, we find out there's way too much in the rear.
@dw90966 ай бұрын
So awesome to see you doing that 32 for yourself! I am certain your viewers know that, your customer projects bring you income, but this will be fun to watch. Question regarding the 32: What are you going to do to extend the front part of that frame to restore it to original? Or are you going to buy a full replacement frame? You can answer in a video segment if you like. Hopefully I didn’t miss a video where you already explained that
@RACGARAGE6 ай бұрын
I plan on finding another frame, this will be good to have for future projects

Thr lead cross member is classic early Ford racing rules but lead, its only dangerous if you are constantly touching it .

A turd yes, BUT a 1932 Ford 3 window coupe turd . Noice !!
@williammurfin63546 ай бұрын
Probably put lead in it to add weight to the rear end for traction. Either that or for Sh*ts and giggles.
@waynespyker57316 ай бұрын
Lead vs low carbon steel? Use the Chevy motor rule. Steel = .283 lb/ci in. Lead = .409 lb/ci in. An A piller is the B piller - the feature should be retained with better Model A components. Happy New Year.

Is it "expensive" ?? Absolutely !! The thing is, show me one hobby that isn't. Look at Golf, hunting, fishing, boating, any kind of water sports, etc !! At least after you spend money on this one, what you have left has some value. Lots of those others, your cost is just "done/over" (eg: Country Club fees/ Duck blind fees/ Fishing/hunting license fees) , Anyway, enjoy your new "toy" and try to relax and ENJOY (no rush/stress) your work on it !!
