Cutting the stem and cleaning the case for a prototype using a Chinese ST3600, which is a stand-in for the ETA6497. I provide some pointers and information along the way, such as how to unwind the mainspring. More videos to follow... #watchmaking #customwatch #watchmodding

Halios are very attractive watches. I haven't been able to get one since they're always out of stock. Good vid on cutting the stem. I'll begin my first build as soon as the case and hands come from China.

Yeah, I was lucky to get one a couple years ago, all because of a tech issue. Thanks for watching and good luck with your first build :)

By the way...in the wrist check, I call that combo of the Halios pastel blue and the orange strap my Dumb & Dumber combo. It is a perfect match with the tuxes in that movie! :D

Brian, I am getting ready to do this exact project. I just received the case today. I have the ST360 movement and the dial. I just need the hands. You did not show how to measure the stem. That's what I was looking for. Do you have this on a different video? That is an important step to cover. Also, do you know if these ST360 movements are lubricated? I have heard that they come unlubricated from the factory. Otherwise they are supposed to be very good and well made movements.

i thought i showed it somewhere, but you want to attach the stem to the crown and put the stem all the way in the movement. then measure from the base of the case to the base of the crown and remove approximately that amount. There are a couple other videos I’ve seen on how to measure. I do recommend trimming less than the amount you measure because you can always trim/file away more, but you can’t add any back. after trimming, i like to use a small file to even the end up.

@@WatchComplications Thanx Brian for clearing that up. I appreciate it. Luckily, I also have an extra stem to use if I make an error this time as well.

just don't forget to write down how much you remove so you remember for the next time!
