In my area these trays aren't all that commonly found, for some reason. When I do see them and usually at Goodwill for example, they secretly believe there is hidden treasure somewhere within the trays because they price them so outrageously high that I'm afraid I won't be able to get a fair price for them. Now, tarnished silver trays seem to be less expensive there so I buy those and do this same thing. In fact, I did a beautiful one using that larger bird on the branch and I lightly stamped Kindest Regards in the background. I was quite please with the results! But I'm always on the lookout for these wooden ones. Yours turned out so nice and I read your reply to someone about how you typically price them. I really appreciate that but I assume your prices were Canadian, not US so I will take that into account. Let me ask you this: if you could only use one sealer for applying transfers and or decoupage, which one would you use? I love finishing my pieces in wax, but I need something for more immediate seal/prep for applying transfers, etc. As always, Cindy,,,,your creations did not disappoint! Thanks for sharing and for always replying.

Hi Sharon! It's funny how areas differ in what is easily/readily thrifted and at what price. I have found that prices have risen over the past couple of years in the thrift stores so there are quite a few items that I no longer purchase there because I just wouldn't get a decent return on them or would have to price them too high for my market here. My prices stated on my website, the videos and comments are all in Canadian, you are correct! As for the sealer... if I could only purchase one product for sealing, that I would also use for decoupage, sealing under/over transfers it would be Big Top from DIY. Now... having said that, recognise that I also sell it so I am also answering that way because it is what I currently use most often. I do use the Liquid Patina from DIY, often interchangeably with the Big Top. Both work great for me but I have used other sealers with great success, definitely use others when sealing for outside and have multiple containers of Mod Podge (hmm... Modge Podge???) in the shop for decoupaging too.

@@QueenBeeCreations thanks, I was wondering specifically about Liquid Patina and Big Top! I wish I could order from you but it would be cost prohibitive I’m afraid. There are some resellers offering these products fairly locally in their booths. Not does that save me s/h but helps support them also. Thank you for your answer!

You're more than welcome Sharon, glad it helped! I appreciate your wanting to help me by purchasing from me but your watching my videos, commenting and sharing them does that so, thank you! I'm sure your local distributors need and are appreciative your business! Tough times for us 'little' guys!!

These are lovely. I am doing some trays for my retail space and will definitely use your trays for inspiration. How did you price these?
@QueenBeeCreations3 жыл бұрын
Typically trays do very well! These are both on the 'small' side of trays... they are usually in the $18 to $25 range depending upon size and my costs. I've done much larger ones with far more expense and work for up to $50.
