"Carl Freudenberg" was a German tannery that went out of business in 2002.
The leather from this tannery is known as the finest, but is now rare and precious since it's no longer produced.
The shoes are made of black box calf, which is one of the most popular leather from Carl Freudenberg and is considered particularly hard to find nowadays.

@@Meeseeek London, Paris, Amsterdam, at least 2 in Berlin. Costly though. It takes 2-3 fittings, sometimes more, quality leather, in the end you have a shoe made for just you and it will fit like a glove though.

I have only just started watching these videos recently and I can't stop being amazed at the tools that are used; things like pieces of glass (snapped to produce a sharp edge) and the pliers with the hammer head. I am amazed at how they plane the leather edges down to paper-thin. The care with which the thread is spun and treated with resin. Just amazed.

This reminds me of my Grand Seiko when it comes to levels and degrees of finishing above other watches. The way you framed the edges of the heels with the hot iron was incredible, thank you so much for sharing with us your skills.
