Please excuse this non sewing video, this is my exploration of a new camera and moving my editing onto a recently fixed laptop.
It is also hopefully a reminder that if you are lucky enough to be able to use seasonal flowers and produce to make food and drink, what a delightful treat it is.

Ohhhhh Constance!! How lovely!! I love elderflower cordial! Rose too! I'm very jealous! I don't have an elder tree in the garden where I am now! Mum would make cordial and my Dad would make the most delicious elderflower 'champagne' , then elderberry wine later in the year. They were all absolutely delicious! The elderberry wine was a 'cure for all ills' as my Dad would say. Obviously I cannot back-up this comment with fact, but I do remember several friends and family members telling us that the glass of stuff he had given them had 'sweatted out' a cold or cough that had been hanging around for a few weeks, overnight in bed! So who knows haha!! I am not a medical professional and so assume no responsibility for anyone who tries the method!! I really miss living in the countryside, but my husband has his job in the City of Liverpool so we have to be here for now. I really hope to go back to living in the country when he retires! Kindest wishes, my dear. Thankyou for the video.

Alesgriff79 thank you for your kind words. I’m glad you enjoyed the video and have such lovely memories of the uses of elderflowers. I have tried to make the sparkling elderflower before but with no luck. I do remember my parents making it and I think most of it exploded. I hope you can enjoy your own produce again when the time comes.

Every time you bring out a vintage kitchen item, it just cements the idea that you are a time lord. And the cordial looks delicious! Makes me wish we had elderflowers where I live.

I just got really excited seeing that you have the exact same bread board that I have, salvaged from my Grandma's house near Leicester and brought all the way to Australia with me! I treasure all the common household objects I have that remind me of her

Very cool. I bet it's delicious! Of course, the first thing I had to do was figure out what kind of miraculous machine you were using to cook everything. I'd read about AGA cookers, but never seen one. Off down a small google rabbithole looking into how they work and their history. Thanks for sharing your cordial adventure. Take care!

Thank you so much for this, and for leaving in all the little farmyard/household sounds. It makes me feel for a moment that I'm in the beautiful countryside, and not in a city that is literally on fire (let it burn if that's what will bring justice, but sometimes it's nice to be distracted for a moment or two). Thank you. I needed a few moments of calm in this incredible time of change.

I left all the bird song in and I thought music would spoil the natural ones. But that does mean you get all the incidental other noises. I felt fairly vacuous posting this today. But I’m glad it could be a welcome distraction.

@@soupfox you are honestly what is wrong with the world. Constance herself is speaking in support of George Floyd on her Instagram. #vintagestylenotvintagevalues. You are not welcome in this community. Every single member of the vintage community whom I follow agrees that #blacklivesmatter. Your hate and selfishness doesn't belong here. No property is EVER more valuable than black people's lives. If you believe that, you are a bad person and I deeply hope that hell is real so you get what you deserve. You are a disgusting excuse for a 'person'. Get out of here with you white supremacy apologist crap. Don't you have somewhere else to be a hateful agent of evil?
